agreed.. got some other coach friends coming down from Aspen. Sadly, we might go to Sancho's. (although, it's a funny place and the drinks are cheap). What other options do we have? The Cheeky Monk.... Pete's Monkey Bar... dunno

So I'm flying to Denver from tx for the portishead show next week. I have a room booked just blocks from the venue, but have heard that there is not much to do in that area. Can anyone who knows the area recommend another area of town that might be a little more happening?

Take the Bus into Denver. There is a shuttle bus that picks up really close to the venue and will take you downtown. Maybe one or two stops in between.

Portishead, just hoping the roads aren't too bad...your talking to a FL boy with only one year of Winter driving experience.

ha gotcha. add a little bit of time to your drive, the first snow of the year really kinda fucks everything up.

Well they have tonight's show in BC and then 3 days to get here with no shows scheduled after Denver... (at least from the quick google search i just did). I'm not worried. And to the guy trying to find "something to do"- why don't you just wise up and get a hotel downtown?

One thing you must do: have a beer at Great Divide. I think I'm going to have several before heading to the show. 8^)

Trying to do downtown, but not really having luck finding anything within my price range that is close. I could decide to spend more money on a room, but ultimately it's only going to be used for sleeping. Haven't been to Colorado since I was like 10, so I want to explore. My money would be better spent on enjoying all Denver versus staying in a pricey room.

skipped sbtrkt. I listend to 'his' album for the first time and found it to be quite boring, glorified, electro r&b. Def. some act i'll have the chance to see at a fest.

    Anyhow, RADIOHEAD! Who's going?

glad to hear it was good. I was going to go but then i saw the $22 ticket and thought twice. Oh well. I missed Carl Craig last night too. Why the hell Beta puts legends on sundays and thursdays is beyond me...obviously we're not a big market but still.. bums me out.

yea same... but ya know... I'm just going to do it. I know come March I'll want to see Radiohead in Denver.

On a side note... it's almost crushing to me that both Radiohead and Portishead will have played in the first fucking bank center. Granted the tours fell outside of the Red Rocks season, but still... i'm dying to see a band I love there. MMJ was pretty good.

Anybody see a 'seminal' show at Red Rocks?

Would LOVE to see them at Red Rocks again, but seeing how they didn't even fill half of the Fillmore when they last came (whereas Deadr4t sold out two nights in a row over there along with Shitty Lights), the likelihood of the Chems playing at RR is pretty slim sadly.

I will always remember the last time the Chems came with Fatboy Slim 12 years ago
