I've only lived in Denver for 2 years but Red Rocks is definitely one of my favorite places in CO and I always take visitors to see it. Last time we went up there on a non show day we saw these guys literally on leashes running each other up and down the stairs, sweating and shouting, they were some serious bros, kinda reminded me of the ambiguously gay due from SNL. ANYWAY, I have been to 2 shows at Red Rocks, Bisco Inferno in 2009 and and Global Dance Fest in 2009. Probably going to Bisco Inferno again this year, it was a really fun, chill show. A lot of hippies in the crowd : ) All my friends go to Global and it's a huge fun party, but last year Sasha & Digweed and Benni Bennasi were headlining and it was a bit too much trance for me. I got tired of it. I'm super excited for Pendulum to tear it up for Global 2010! I'd love to see Massive Attack at Red Rocks, why aren't they coming here during their US tour? It really is the best venue in the country. I am so envious to all that saw Daft Punk at the Red Rocks in '07, and hope they return! Although I love techno, I really hope to see some live music, just so happens most of my favorite rock bands are long gone from the classic rock era. I think any band would be fun to see there, just going for movie on the rocks is so fun. You get the red rocks, bodies of water in the distance, the rockies, the denver skyline...and now for your viewing pleasure...
Venue at Night Bisco Inferno 2009
On stage on a non show day
Sun setting behind the stage
Global Dance Fest at Night
Stage during Sasha and Digweed
My boyfriend and I in line, pretty awesome views on the way into the venue
Having fun in the Red Rocks museum, located at the top of the stairs at the venue, great bathrooms and they have all this info on artists who played before and even have a movie about the red rocks history playing at all times.
You can see the Denver skyline in the distance. So beautiful!
