In all honesty, that 2manydjs set was the same set you could have heard from them a year ago and probably already had in your personal collection for just as long. Fuck Die Antwoord. I don't think they are that bizarre and aren't really doing much more than the booty bass movement weirdos did in the early 90's.

They wasted valuable night time Sahara for some straight up gimmicky tripe. It isn't about 2manydjs (and as a 2manydjs fan I'll admit, the set was pretty terrible, wish I went and saw Devo... [and yes I know only 1 of the brothers showed up, doesn't really matter, doesn't take 2 people to mix properly])

or, could have had Z-Trip spin longer, point is anything would have been better. If Die Antwoord was such hot shit, they should have been able to bring it in the Gobi at 3pm.

This board is the ever present reminder of some sort of consensus that Coachella regards overall,...so I'll keeping saying my part to try to help insure a better Coachella as the years go on.

For anyone going to the Music Box show, my friend is working the CD booth for Rhino Records. Free wristband to meet the band and get the CD signed. If someone does this, please report back, can't imagine what they'd be like in person offstage.

They got better since Coachella. Die Antwoord were very entertaining and did a good job of getting the crowd going. I wasn't a fan going in and was waiting for an excuse to walk out any second once I was in but I stayed for most of their set. Walking out I had to give them props for having their live show on lock and making their show fun to be at.

Very amusing to see the haters now all infatuated with DA because they've seen them live.

I saw them live at Coachella and thought they were just okay, not worth all the hype. It seems like performing alot more since then and working on their live show have helped tremendously.

I missed them at Conflictchella and hadn't really guessed I'd get to see them before they faded out of their 15 minutes. I was pretty surprised to see them in the Voodoo lineup and knew I had to see the show, I just wasn't sure why. The music is interesting, but not in my every day play list. After seeing the show on the rail, surrounded by their fanatics, I understand it. It's like watching a car stuck on a railroad track, not willing to help, just wanting to watch the gore happen. Their fans are hard core, lots of energy, and anger. I don't think I would have gotten the same expereince standing in the back watching from the outskirts. Die Antwoord has serious stage presence. They gave everything they had to the audience and it was nasty. Towards the ends of the show, Ninja came crowd surfing through us and my hand ended up in his gooey armpit while helping him back on the stage. Three days later
I still feel like I haven't scrubbed all the funk off me. I highly suggest seeing them before they disappear.

Somebody at Interscope will be losing their job in the near future.....lets see, lets sign a South African novelty rap act who have released their career defining song.

I heard it was 5 records, but that was from a record shop employee. This deserves some research. I still have no idea how they expect to complete 4 more records with this act.

If I remember rights, they have a 5 record plan...

    1) $O$
    2) Die Antwoord Album
    3) Yolandi solo album
    4) Ninja solo album
    5) Die Antwoord Album

I can't remember where I saw this but yeah the whole Ninja and Yolandi solo albums is supposed to be a competition to see who can sell the most albums.
