This info is a bit dated but he ran into some health issues that caused him to cancel some tour dates in late 09. I'm sure you can find it if you google it. I believe I remember him saying that he wouldn't do any shows until he gets his proper health back. I was late to his treasure island set but it looked pretty fun.. I doubt he'll get added to coachella this year and i'm fine with it - one less conflict to worry about. Definitely someone I wanna see again, but in a tiny venue without a stage.
ya but they book ppl that were in 08
sometimes people get booked 2 years in a row like MIA
MIA was brought back 1. because Amy Winehouse cancelled, and 2. to make up for her show getting shut down in '08..
Anyone know what track is playing in the background of this video? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R8UlLBuzy6Q
Did you like the new album, casey? I've only listened once. It does seem much more...mature than his previous outputs.

America is fucking awesome. As much as I love Bromst, this album is a lot more realized and flows really well from start to finish. My only complaint is that I wish it was about 10 minutes longer. I can't catch his Seattle show in October, so I'm holding out for a Coachella and/or Sasquatch set.
Loving the new album!
"Mature" is a really good word for it. I've only listened maybe 4-5 times but I think it's terrific so far. I really liked how intricate the songs were. One thing I like about Dan Deacon is that you can really see how he is growing with each album. He's always been really good at layering sounds, and this time I think he really took it to the next level. Also, "Lots" is my jam!
I saw Dan Deacon open for bassnectar last year. It was literally the worst thing I've ever seen or heard in my entire life. I wanted to shove knives into my ears, please fuck no
was at the same bassnectar show and i enjoyed dan's set

09/19-23 $ymbiosis gathering
10/19-20 treasure island music festival
I'd rather be told that I have cancer than be told I have to sit through another one of his sets again. It reminded me of a fucking child on keyboard or something
Bassnectar and Dan Deacon are a strange billing, though it's not entirely surprising that Nick hated it. I'd imagine most of the crowd there were unfamiliar and/or unappreciative of the DIY aesthetic of his work and performance. No shock there.

There's a wide variety of music that I can usually understand why people enjoy even if I personally do not. However, I can't understand how anyone can appreciate the set he played because it was the most unorganized jumbled mess of obnoxious sounds I've ever heard in my life. I don't know about his productions because I haven't listened to much but that set, whatever it was, I could not tolerate
Saw him at a tiny art gallery here in Portland. Place was packed to the gills and the show was fucking awesome. There is a stage but he was set up on the floor and the stage was open as a dance floor.
Caught dan at an afternoon set at lolla '09. He had a marching band on stage and was overall pretty fanastic.
"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."
saw Dan 5 years ago at a festival. Had heard nothing of him before so my friends and I decided to check him out without knowing anything about him.
We left after 3 minutes. Couldn't stand it.
Saw him for the first time on Saturday night, and it was possibly the most fun I've had at a show in my entire life. I would fucking love to see him in the lineup.
yes defanly yes i love his shows he makes them so fun yes yes
