Does Coachella sell out? when?

sorry if this question sounds weird, I'm new to this festival (and to the States, in general) and I'm still waiting for a friend to decide if he's coming or not, so I haven't bought the tickets yet... my question is for the people who have been to the festival before:
are tickets for this festival usually sold out at some point? does the price rise? and what about the camping?
I'm from Spain and there I've never seen any festival running out of tickets, but they do rise the prices the closest the date is.
Thanks for any info, I'll die if I miss this fest!!!

There have been at least a couple past years where the ticket situation has gotten to the point where tickets were no longer available via Ticketmaster and/or other advance outlets. I would certainly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, especially if you're traveling a long distance to attend.

And no, the price does not rise. Or, at least, in the past, the ticket price via Ticketmaster has always remained the same from the initial announcement on.

Yeah this is the first time that they only selling 3day passes. I only can remember one time that they sold out but they were single day tickets not 3days.Personally i dont think is going to sell out but who knows.

2007 was sold out for awhile but that was because of Rage. More tix got released later though.
If there's any danger of sellout they give advance warning here.
