    Default Temperature Swing

I imagine this has to have been brought on this thread somewhere but all my searches brought up irrelevant threads.

What is the swing in temperture like at Coachella? I know it pushes 100 degrees most days but how cold does it really get at night?

Is it like 70 degrees after the sun sets but then like 50 degrees when you're in your tent?

It will be at least 100F plus the cooking body heat of 50000+ people during the day. You will feel the difference especially if you get burnt or dehydrated...

I've camped the last three years. 88 as a high sounds ridiculously low. I would say upper 90's to low 100's is the norm. 60's at night sounds about right, just remember the sun doesn't go down until around 7:15p and comes right back up around 6:15a. So, lots of sun anyway you slice it. Sunscreen, shade and hydration are your friends.

Last year was slightly freakish weather wise. Thursday night in the campgrounds was COLD, I mean winter jacket cold. The rest of the weekend was the normal heat you would expect.

Now that it's a bit earlier in April it's probably unlikely that we'll be topping 100 degrees every day as was the case in years past. Nonetheless, at least 90-100 degrees during the day is definitely to be expected, and at night it probably actually dips down to about 60 degrees but it feels colder, especially if you're camping.

pretty much expect a lot of heat in the day time and drink plenty of water and for the night if you bring a light jacket you'll be fine.

I would say you can expect 105 degrees during the day (at the hottest) and 65ish degrees at night. But its hard to tell when your face is melting...

you could use a sweatshirt at night, and by night, i'm talking 2-5am..

you'll need shorts or less during the day, it will be hot..

Yeah, Thursday night was pretty cold last year...I don't think all 3 days will be in the excess of 100. Sunday was pretty hot during the day last year and it dipped down pretty much in the evening. This year this "El Nino" may play a role in what kind of weather we'll be having for the festival.

Desert temperature drops can feel significant, especially if you're sunburnt. 60 will feel like under 50 if you burn easily and it was near 100 during the day.

the heat isnt all that bad in my opinion, especially if you have shades & sunblock. its the many many people that makes it somewhat unbareable. good thing the music takes ur mind of that, lol

oooh.. I remember the temp. drop on the last night I was camping during Coachella 2007. Monday morning I woke up early and was freezing.. I looked back at the almanac for that morning and it said 68 degrees, but I remember it being around 50 that morning.. And all weekend we had temps in the high 90's.. I hope we are in for good weather this year.. 80 degree weather that is..

its a high desert guys, expect crazy temperature swings. bring layers for night. you'll need them in the middle of the night, but then around 6-7 am you'll start strippin all those off and start sweating by 8 am. fresh batch of ball soup by 9 am. enjoy!
