C DUB YA made a good point about Coachella always being five stages. I was thinking they would limit the number of stages for less acts. But, as history shows, they have done fewer days instead of fewer stages. So.... I'll be turning this one into a one-day extravaganza like 2001. Since that's obviously more logical. Thanks for the feedback. Anybody else think this doesn't look like a Coachella line-up? I'll be doing more research for the re-do as well. Suggestions would be appreciated.

for the lesser known acts- there are a lot of bands that just came out in those years, doesnt mean they would've been known about.. Ive seen plenty of posters with bands on the lowest tiers because they just started in said year, and most of the time these bands were not even known about by anyone, let alone a world-reknown festival... just somethin to think about

I still HATE the idea of Michael Jackson in '84-85. He was in the middle of the biggest tour in history, the Jacksons "Victory" tour, and sold out festival-sized audiences without any other acts. Plus, being a notorious control freak with a ridiculously large crew/entourage, he seems unlikely for a desert rain/shine festival anyhow.

But it's your poster, as I told the other twenty people with Michael Jackson featured. With a one-day format, it would be very easy to pull him, though.

I can see that. I mostly cribbed the idea from a Google Image of an old Santa Claus story, with lots of gifts and fruit and whatnot, with Christmas trees, then built my own version with hamburgers and pizzas and mountains and stuff.

Glastonbury doesn't have pizzas or hamburgers, so they can take a flying leap!

That's actually good criticism, given that britpop was hugely popular then. I'm going to be adding Sleeper, Black Grape, and Ocean Colour Scene later today.

Initial reaction.... EMOCHELLA 1985! Yeah, I know, emo wasn't a thing yet... but I don't think you could fit any more dreary, sad-faced complain-o-rockers on this bill if you tried. It's loaded, too... way loaded, like a wishlist more than an actual lineup. I think the promoters would say "The Smiths... and if we fail to get them... the Cure" rather than having them back-to-back.

Beasties are way too high, imho. Culture Club is way, way too low. George Michael was still in Wham!, and they were huge then.

That's all I noticed at first glance. Good lookin' poster.... keep hacking at it, or keep it the same... either way, it's pretty good.

C DUB YA - I believe that there is NO way that XTC would have performed anywhere, let alone a huge outdoor festival, in 1990. Andy Partridge was way into his stagefright phase, and to my knowledge the band did no live shows outside of radio and television appearances after 1982

I know this. Stagefright coming from his vallum withdrawl if I remember the story.

Ok, after some hard work, here is my 1995 Coachella.

note: In 1995, NIN and David Bowie toured together on the "Dissonance Tour". NIN played first (though they were billed first). After NIN played a re-worked instrumental version of "Eraser", Bowie's band gradually came onto the stage to play 5 songs with NIN. Reznor and Bowie sang duet throughout this dual mini-set (including NIN's "Reptile" and Bowie's "Scary Monsters, Subterranean, and Hello Spaceboy"), with Reznor leaving the stage at the end for Bowie's band to perform their own set. NIN and Bowie's individual set lengths ended up being roughly equal. The joint set ended with new version of "Hurt", performed mostly by Bowie's band and sang by Bowie and Reznor.

I liked this tour very much, it was actually called "The Outside Tour" I saw it a few times.
