Thanks for the support man. I definitely wasn't thinking there would be 5 stages in '88. It's quite possible the judges are looking for only "traditional" posters modeled after the most recent years... and in that case, I may not win a ticket. But, considering the lack of strict rules given in the first post, I decided to go all out. It's a music and ARTS festival after all. Judging a contest is always subjective anyway. So for everyone else doing a poster... do what you want whether it's a traditional poster or something really out there. Nobody really knows what they're judging on. Good luck everybody!

I'd be surprise if the Phil Collins version of Genesis headlined in 1983, and downright shocked if Def Leppard did... without Pyromania, they definitely weren't headliner material, and that didn't come out till January 1983.

But... MOST IMPORTANTLY, Bob Marley died in 1981. That definitely needs fixing.

Interesting take, but "new wave" wouldn't have been used in 1988 and several bands (e.g. Saint Eteinne) were not quite formed in 1988.

Final version, I swear. Minor changes in the lineup but I'm sticking with Michael Jackson as the headliner on Friday. I can see him departing the Victory Tour as an up-and-coming soloist, thanks to Coachella.

Also don't like debating line-ups, but is this the Monsters of Rock tour? Ozzy, ACDC, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Journey, and Blue Osyter Cult???? You might just go ahead and add Judas Priest, Kiss, Motorhead, etc... even though this is all make believe, it would be like Coachella booking acts like Metallica, Megadeath, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, Staind, and Disturbed for this year's fest.

and just leave Barry Manilow off, it's not clever.

I like this even though the bands aren't my favorite. Good even-handed selection and the replication of a real Coachella poster is damned close. I'd recommend finding something to spruce up the background just a little--refer to Menik's winning entry in the first post as well as his several other entries from the old thread--and I think you have a damn good shot.
