Nice with the ABBA headline but you spelled Indio wrong at the top. Seems rather important, maybe. Just lettin you know. Great poster.

yea, and paul mccartney sells out coachella sized venues on his own too, but he played last year. daft punk too. also, a lot of times bands LIKE to play festivals. hell, phish can get 80,000 people to go to their own festivals but still played bonnaroo.
do you really have to disagree with everything everyone says on the internet? doesnt that get exhausting?

edit - and speaking to this point a bit more, isn't it the mark of a great festival that they should be able to get the big guns to play it?

Okay, I know you have Tenacious D on the last line... but according to the Outside Lands Festival (or their PR guy), they only had ONE song in 1994, and that was the year they played their first show. At a bar. So.... probably unlikely. But it's your poster!

Plus, Primus is pretty low here.

D'oh! Thanks for the heads-up. I wasn't counting on strong consideration with that one, but I'll edit it anyhow.

Yeah, they headlined Lolla in 1993.

I might get some heat for having pink floyd as my headliner but i've been working on this for a while and am really pleased with the turn out.

thanks for the tip, ill take it out.
i just know that they formed in 93 and had already been playing around LA by then, so i figured they woulda had at least a set (30 mins?) worth of material.

all i would advise you to do is to fix g clinton and parliament funkadelic to either parliament or funkadelic. the bands were still separate then, and in their early years.

and i fixed the primus/tenacious D issue - thanks for the heads.

They were in the middle of literally the biggest tour ever. Daft Punk does not sell out 65,000 seat arenas. Neither does Paul McCartney frankly.

Paul McCartney plays to 350,000 in Kiev

and i suppose you are right about daft punk, i was reaching.... but as i edited in my previous post, it is the mark of a great festival to be able to have the biggest and best playing.

what does the band care if its just ONE gig where they will earn 250,000 instead of 500,000 (made those numbers up, but you see my point).

Anybody can play to 350,000 in Kiev. Metallica played to 700,000 in Moscow.

The point is it's unrealistic and shows a complete lack of creativity. You really wanna know why the band wouldn't bother doing it? Well, let's see, if they play to 55,000 people at their own show they make between 50-150 dollars per ticket sold, plus sell probably at least four or five times as much merch. You can say, "but why wouldn't they," expect if your logic was sound they would have. I'm sure Glastonbury asked them.

It's making me want to change mine, even though I was excited about it at the outset. Hell, I just put Queen on a poster.

Count the Lou Reed, Bowie, and George Clinton iterations! Heck.. I might count em up, just for fun.

I don't make posters for a living. But since you are only full of critical thought and amazing ideas apparently, just what by chance, is imaginative to you.

My poster's coming, motherfucker. But no matter what I put up won't change the fact that you jagoffs can't think of 15 headliners between 50 of you.

I'm working on a 89 or 90 (90) lineup I think you will not only agree with, but even Monklish might actually enjoy.

    We shall see though.

There are a shit ton of repeat headliners for these posters. Hell I changed my headliners for my '92 poster just cuz they've been done so many times, one of which I haven't seen anybody use yet. I'll hopefully have it done tomorrow, I'm scrapping my current design and starting a new one. Maybe I'll bust out an '88 & '96 too.
