I am soooo not taking that Footloose poster seriously.

    BUT, just in case.

NO POSTER should have a major copyrighted image on it like that. Esp, one that has NOTHING to do with the festival. Like the above image of Kevin Bacon from the Footloose poster. Jesus people.

Also, Wham! sold about 90 trillion copies of their album the year prior, so I'm betting that they would have headlined.

This is their best tune. before those.

3 UK Festivals and 1 Australian. I'd be further convinced if any of those was a US festival but I get it and have acknowledged their popularity in the UK before Fat of the Land.

Here's my 1973. My line up is surely unique. Although I may have some repeats from people, I think I have some mid to lows that no one else does. Hopefully that makes a difference. Thoughts? Coments? The special guests w/ Donny Osmond are his Brothers and Sister btw.

Thanks for the posting suggestions. It was something with the file apparently b/c I resaved it and it worked.

    C Dubs, that's a very fine 96 poster indeed.

And, I'm happy to see that we don't have very many overlapping names, which shows some originality on both of our parts I guess.

nice work, c-dub! glad to see we like some of the same shit

so i was at boarding school in 1996 at idyllwild arts academy, which is in the mountains above palm springs. so i put mein in october so that i could have gone with mostly people i would want to have seen. i made the background in MS paint as my photoshop skills are weeeeeaaaaaak. i just chopped up a picture of a sunset and pasted it into a nice collage sunset. it took me HOURS so i'll cut any bitches who want to talk shit on that. but feel free to correct me on the lineup as i'm sure i've missed something

Sorry, dude... Soundgarden on the fourth line makes this poster terrible. They were the #2 behind Metallica at Lollapalooza, and released Down on the Upside at #2 on the charts in May '96 - it went platinum that year.

Either bump them up or face the wrath of mediocrity!

Yeah, Soundgarden would have subbed at the very least.

Well, dude... they're just establishing that they were a major musical force prior to 1996. I'm not arguing they were kings of the world, just saying that as the top electronic act on ONE day of the festival isn't out of the realm of possibility.

But I completely concede your point. The festival has done stranger things, though... Bloc Party on the second line in 2006 and Groove Armada on the second line in 2003 come to mind. The Prodigy had more success than both of those bands had... and some longevity.

One band, in the wrong place in your eyes makes it terrible?

    Alright.

I can easily see bumping them up to a sub. BUT, not based on what you said, your argument for it isn't very valid.

Last time I checked, April comes before May, meaning, that record wasn't out yet, and Lolla was still months away.

I might still but them up a line or two, but you can see where I'm coming from, no?

Dude, Down On The Upside was the follow up to their big record. Superunknown was out in 94. They were fucking huge.

I realize this. I don't exactly disagree with the logic, I just explaining why that particular thought came to be.

But, it's all void now isn't it? Thank you all.

Really though, in 1996, Soundgarden would have been headlining or subbing at the very least....no argument there....they would surely have been billed above every band you have before them on Saturday.
