This is what happens when one person makes a comment about 96 and 96 sucking.... you get thirty crappy 96 and 98 posters... still with nowhere near a clear winner. Yay!

In all the talk about which was less creative (a lava lamp OR a galaxy), I think I decided that a lava lamp with a galaxy INSIDE it would be the true craptastic super-winner. I'm on it!

I've decided that I'll try to avoid looking at posters because they might affect my line-up and decisions.

I was pretty much done with my 1990 line up and then Cdub posts his and I look down at my list and realize the huge overlap. I'm not changing anything on it though because I spent about 8 hours on bands whether anyone believes me or not is their fucking fault.

Spent the past couple days on one until NMH pointed out to me that there's a year restriction. Oh well, I can't figure out how to do the poster justice and I don't want to be a cheap fuck and have someone do it all for me, anyway (the poster is really important).

So since it's just for fun, anyone wanna help?

I've updated them all. After looking at CDub's type, I knew I had to make some changes. Each has had type adjustments and other minor aesthetic changes. Here they all are. I know many of you have seen them all, but if you have anything constructive comments I haven't heard, let me know. The nice part about doing all this editing, is finding mistakes... No tilted 1998 b/c no changes.

    and just for fun...

Iggy Pop w/ David Bowie could not have occurred without headlining above every other act on your lineup. That was superstar Bowie era.

I really wish I had decided to enter another year than 1998. I think if I entered anywhere else now I'd be too influenced.

It seems a lot of posters don't have much electronic music, except the occasional Prodigy/Chems/Underworld trifecta. I can understand in the old days when it wasn't an issue, but recent ones?

Trying to have as many artists to fill a Sahara line-up is tough but something I want to take into account. There are at least 9 artists that usually fill up a normal day in the Sahara.

I made this as a one day festival, believing that in 1981 a two or three day festival would be nearly impossible to do. I understand I'll receive criticism and I'll take it, - let me know how I can make it any better.

A two or three day festival would be just as easy to do then. A festival in the 80's probably had many more packaged band options from the labels anyway, so it being in 81 shouldn't make a difference. There were tons of stuff to choose from.

    Neither would Nirvana.

By the way, I redesigned my 1992 and 1985 posters if anyone wants to take a look at them. I also fixed the billing issue from 1992.

look at my 95 and 96 if you're looking for decent EDM.

Otherwise, I do agree with what you're saying.

Any 90s poster that's striving for some realism needs a good handful each day.

OMG that 1998 poster nails it, graphic design and all.

Do you mean the order or the people involved. If it is the latter of the 2 then, sorry but its the best variety I could get with what I found as far as real acts releasing stuff later this year.

I disagree. I saw Duran play 2 sold out nights at the LA Forum that summer so I think they could pull as a headline act. I don't think PG's "So" was at the same level. Thanks for the comment though.

I stand corrected but if that is the case then I do not think Peter Gabriel and Duran Duran would play the same night. I remember Peter Gabriel being massively popular more so than to sub
