Makes me wanna go play some 8-bit games.
CDUB is just being nice. If you honestly think that because that one is Atari-ish and one is Nintendo-ish makes much of a difference, you're crazy. We aren't talking about stars and moons, or even colors. It's certainly appears that it has been inspired by CDubs video-game design, whether you say you looked at all of the posters or not.
Someone create a World 3-1 poster, stat!
Up Next: Cobra Starship, Gogol Bordello, Talib Kweli & Jean Grae
I think that the bigger issue is that David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Van Halen, The Police, Paul Simon, Duran Duran, and debatably the Talking Heads are all headliners in 1983.

Are people going to be able to vote on these?! That would be sweet...
Probably not.

'83 has got some good entries... too bad only one wins...
Here's my poster for the year 1972. It has only two days of music because Coachella didn't start having three days until just a few years ago.
I don't get what's wrong with the line-up?! They all had albums/singles out in that year, or in late late '82, and/or actually did play festivals that year! plus, I thought the retrospective idea was also meant to be somewhat in the "dream team" vein...
ah well. I still think it was a job well done, and it was really fun to try. Best of luck to everyone who entered!
This was alot of fun. I enjoyed building with my neon poster and all the fun from here.
Below is my final edit 1980 poster
Good luck all, there are some cool designs.
See ya at Coachella

I can only imagine the horror of your set times guide.
No, don't, don't cut my hair, Ned loves my hair.
the problem that lies is because there are too many bands that would be considered headliners. Then you have to take into account their egos, paycheck, and contract. Like I think the reason why the 08 poster is different than the rest to where it is one big line up is Prince's ego. I am sure in his contact he had to be top billed and no one can go above him. That is why, I am guessing, they didnt break it up by day, because his name wouldnt be at the top.
I could be way off but I thought of that when looking at the poster on my wall.

Since the show list is very minimal...
August 29 // Chemical Brothers w/ Chromeo & Yacht @ Hollywood Bowl
September 26 // Vampire Weekend w/ Beach House & the Very Best @ Hollywood Bowl
October 5 // ARCADE FIRE @ Henry Miller Library
October 13 // Corin Tucker Band @ The El Rey
(someone should give me Sufjan Stevens tickets, aint got none of those)
ah I see... that's where I thought the fun of the "dream team" element came in! Otherwise I definitely would have had a very different poster, I thought we had some license to dream! haha... nevermind, like I said, it was fun to try anyway...man, I wish I'd been there to see Prince... last year was my first year...

sunset effect is great on the landscape, but makes the rest of the poster just piss color. Clouds, perhaps?
Also, I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man.

no one has given love or hate to mine either. i figure that's better than just hate, and my posters are pretty middle of the road. not the best or worst for their year. i am gonna go back and edit as much as i am able between now and the end of the month. i like my pics, but i need more bands. as for photoshop, im not all that artistically inclined so we'll see what i can do.
no coachella for me this year. lineup is too weak to fly coast to coast.
