Thread: Anyone know of any camping gear rental places?

Default Anyone know of any camping gear rental places?

I'm from LA so I've always driven to Coachella and brought my own crap, but I live across the country now so I feel like renting is a better idea than hauling shit with me on an airplane. Any ideas? I know REI has rental equipment, but they don't have any locations near Indio I don't think.

Just buy a cheap tent at walmart once you get to Cali. You can either pack it up and bring it back with you or leave it and it gets donated.

I don't know of any equipment rental places around Indio, but you could always buy an onsite camping package that includes gear.

I have traveled from boston with camping gear every year and its never been a problem. And thats with 2 tents. Just get a big ass luggage bag, and make sure its not over 50 pounds...may need to do some rearranging with your carry on.

and if you do decide to fly with your gear, remember that Southwest doesn't charge baggage fees.

Oh, I recently saw a news story about Zilok.com - a website that lets you rent out your stuff to people, and likewise you can rent pretty much anything. If you're flying into LA, I bet you could find some stuff to rent on that site.
