do you need a separate wrist band or something to get on to the camp grounds?

    From the Camping FAQ:

Can I bring my friends into camp?

Sure, as long as everyone has a festival ticket you can have them come to your camping spot.

I didnt camp last year but in 08 anyone could visit the camp grounds during the day but at night they check wristbands..

I think you might be able to re enter if you go through the security check again
