    Default Set Time Predictions- SUNDAY

    Please read:

    1. This is a collaborative effort. Everyone has fair say. These are not MY set time predictions. These are OUR set time predictions. And it works on educated guesses.
    2. I will update this first post as we discuss changes that should be made.
    3. Differences in opinion will occur, so let's discuss them logically.
    4. Have fun.

Also, we encourage anyone to contact acts to confirm set times.

    @ = "confirmed" time
    # = "confirmed" stage

    TIMES FROM MYSPACE:
    Mutemath - 3pm
    Local Natives - 3pm
    Hadouken! - 2pm

    Other "confirms":
    Little Boots - "8:30"

Just to pick off where the old thread was, yeah no way Thom Yorke draws 50,000 people, that's just insane. I think there is a good chance he'll be on the Outdoor Theatre instead.

If Yorke were moved to the Outdoor, who do you think would move to the main in his place? Sly? De La Soul? or maybe add an act earlier on the main?

I could kinda see Yorke on the Outdoor, maybe overlapping with Pavement or something. Just not sure who else would play the Main then.

what a bizarre statement. Just because you don't like Radiohead, Erik, doesn't mean you have to deny that many other people do.

So, how many people do you think were at the Outdoor?

Well, just as many or more people would want to see Thom as Pavement. Nobody would be able to get anywhere near the Outdoor during his set.

It would be a large crowd, yes, but doable I think. Whatever the case is, I think the crowd will be dispersed some due to the fact that Pavement would be on the main before or after him.

Florence & the Machine is too much of a buzz act to play at noon. It would be convenient for us, but not likely. Seems most likely for a Kate Nash or Amy Wino slot.

Matt and Kim will most likely play the main stage. Julian Casablancas will probably play late in one of the tents as to maximize his shitty light set up. Here's what should happen:

    * Switch Julian Casablancas with Yann Tiersen
    * Switch Yann Tiersen with Matt and Kim
    * Switch The Big Pink with One Eskimo
    * Switch One Eskimo (now main stage) with MUTEMATH
    * Switch One Eskimo (now on the OT) with Florence and the Machine
    * Switch Miike Snow (a Sahara act) with Delphic (a Mojave act), and bump them up over Rusko
    * Swap Owen Pallet and Little Boots and push them up, drop Delphic to 2nd Mojave act of the day

    That's more like it.
    Upcoming Shows:
    * Dillon Francis + Anamanaguchi -- December 28th

Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

Boourns, I agree with you 2/3 the time but Matt and Kim definitely keep Main stage status. They are on Alt Nation what feels like every other hour. Their show merits it too, having seen them twice... it's a freaking blast.

Clumsy, I really dig your work on these lineups with the exception of some very easy switches. It's all sorts of good. Consider this:

I'd say switch good ol Thom with Gary Numan. It's just pretty damn imperative that this happen. Let 80's Gary lead into 90's Pavement. Plus you do this and then you really don't have too much conflict for the hour that Thom plays.

I'd also say do some maneuvering with the time slots of The big Pink. I feel that they are bigger than whatever band is after them (brain farting on the name...hypnotic...). Also, The big pink and the Soft Pack are kinda similar. You want to avoid the clumping of too similar genres.

And for the record, I wish Jonsi would play at 12am. Seriously, just save us the conflicts and let us finish up the night with some good ol sigur ros type action.

Thom Yorke will 100% be on the Main Stage.
Just to make it clear to everyone who still isn't convinced..

    2009 subheadliners:
    Morrissey - Main
    Franz Ferdinand- Main
    MIA - Main
    Thievery Corp - Main
    MBV - Main
    YYYs - Main

    2008 subheadliners:
    The Verve - Main
    The Raconteurs - Main
    Kraftwerk - Main
    Portishead - Main
    (even Death Cab - Main)
    My Morning Jacket - Main
Love and Rockets - OUTDOOR (and that's because of Roger Waters)

And we know Thom Yorke is WAY too big for the Outdoor. I mean, even Band of Horses was packed.

Hadouken!'s myspace has them playing at 2pm, and judging by the song/video they're pimping on myspace, they really sound like a Sahara act..

the idea here (that I agreed on with Boourns) is that Orbital may have a long set due to he fact they are so rare and a BIG act.
Also, with Gorillaz and Orbital being the two rarest acts of the festival, it's unlikely they would conflict/overlap much.
    but we'll see.

i understand but with thom being on the outdoor (if its true), then the main action could start earlier and end earlier, giving the power to orbital at the end of the night
and i mean, it's ok if they overlap for 10 minutes, no big deal

You think Gobi around 4 or 5 then?

Phoenix--->Thom Yorke--->Pavement--->Gorillaz seems like a no brainer with a break in between Thom and Pavement to allow people to see sly on the outdoor theatre ala Leonard Cohen and Paul Weller last year.

This makes the most sense. Why wouldn't the three biggest acts and the three highest-billed acts not play the main stage?

Is Phoenix serious about the whole "we won't play during the daylight anymore ever" thing? That's why I had them scheduled during the Gorillaz setup.

Maybe the main would shut down for an hour or so like last year during the hour break between Franz and Moz, while Cohen played the outdoor? Or what makes more sense is that maybe Thom would play the outdoor while Gorillaz's stuff was being set up?

So if down became up and Thom actually played the Outdoor...

    Pavement 7:15-8:15 (main)
    Thom 8:25-9:25 (outdoor)
    Gorillaz 9:30-11:00 (main)
    Orbital closing the Sahara

Like that? And where do all the other rare acts like Jonsi, Charlotte, Sly fit into the equation?
