Also what's with everybody so sure that dirty projectors would play sunset on the outdoor theatre? Are they really that popular? They don't seem to have the billing that would warrant that kind of spot, usually those acts are on the third line.

You're right. Dead Weather got Sunset @ Treasure Island so I would think they got more popular and perform later but maybe sunset would be perfect for them.

umm.. there's still a Beach House/Girls conflict.. so, suggestions?

I can see Beach House playing the Gobi later in the evening, but I'm not sure how to do it. It's also very, very possible they could open a stage.

I don't know if this matters or how it might affect their set time, but Beach House is playing in Santa Barbara Friday night. I'm inclined to think that means they won't be an opening act, driving to Indio on Saturday morning and playing right away seems rushed, maybe. But they could just drive overnight. Hmm...any thoughts?

It's possible. I know a couple local bands who do this very thing.

I sure hope they play first in one of the tents. I just have this feeling that they'd be a great band to start saturday off with.

I'm not sure how accurate the newest incarnation of the set times is, but I must say that for me, it is nearly perfect. Devo vs. FlyLo is my only conflict and I can totally live with that.

So, here's to hoping that GV takes a hint from you, clumsy.

How certain do you guys feel about Porcupine Tree closing out the Mojave at that 11pm time slot?

All I know about Porcupine Tree is that they aren't going to conflict with FNM, Muse, Coheed, or Claypool. That, and they would be more suited for a night slot.
So they're a guess.

These are my observations:

- Zoe vs Aterciopelados is not happening. Two latin bands playing at the same time? Ridiculous.
- Band of Skulls is to big for the Gobi. Mojave is their best bet.
- I see Tokyo Police playing the VHS or Beta / We are Scientists time slot at the Main Stage. That would be around 2pm.
- I still think that Hot Chip will be closing out the Sahara ala The Rapture vs Tiesto in 08 (switch Hot Chip with 2ManyDjs adn there u have it)

If I read that right you have Shooter Jennings overlapping a bit with Old Crow Medicine Show. That seems unlikely since the both appeal to essentially the same sub-audience.

i don't think it's a coincidence that the Sahara headliners and the acts i think will play Outdoor sunset, are all billed in the exact same place, each day, on the poster..

i disagree.. all i've seen are daytime/sunset clips of them at fests, and it works for them..

switch them with Corinne Bailey Rae, who is waaay too big for the 2pm Mojave slot, but put Porcupine Tree slightly later in the day..
