Stupid logic, but I'm tryna be optimistic. I'm a little excited for the set. And what was once an hour long night time extravaganza is now a 50 minute blazing hot sun dehydration fest.

That is just around sunset.

I think MGMT at sunset on the Main Stage would be fantastic.

I think an Outdoor Theater set might even be a little too cramped. They really have gotten HUGE in the last couple years. And after their universally well reviewed Bonnaro set, people will be clamoring to catch them in a festival setting again to see if they can repeat such a feat.

Getting close to around the same level as YYYs were last year. Did you see YYYs crowd last year? It was huge. No way that could have fit on the Outdoor. Same with MGMT this year.

No, I didn't see the crowd at the YYY's because I don't like them. Anyways, that's hardly indicative of anything. The stage looked empty when The YYY's played APW. MGMT's latest album has sold more units, and "Kids" is played constantly on pop and rock stations around the country. I don't think I've ever heard a YYY's song on any pop stations.

I wasn't surprised at all when the ting tings and ghostland played the sahara. I recall being called an "idiot" last year for saying Ghostland would be there. I don't remember hearing anybody claim that LOTP would be in the sahara. All three of those acts are way more "electronic" and "dancey" in my opinion.

Ok.. I'm working on this now.. here's a couple thoughts.

- IF Les Claypool is actually playing at 2, he's playing the Main. If he were playing at 2 on any other stage, he'd be billed much lower. (and Claypool on the Main isn't that crazy since FNM are playing that day) I know it's weird, but.. this is assuming that 2pm "confirmation" is correct.

- Since Tiesto will be on the Main (and since the Rapture closed the Sahara while he was on the Main in 2007) how about Gossip closing the Sahara? If I take Hot Chip out of the Sahara, someone else has GOT to go in simply due to the number of acts on each stage.
EDIT: Unless you guys want to put Flying Lotus back in there.

I guess Gossip could close the Sahara, I'm not too familiar with them. But I think if any non-traditional dance act would close, it would probably be hot chip.

Have you tried contacting FlyLo to see where he is playing? Supposedly he is pretty cool about responding to fan questions on his myspace, but I don't have an account to message him with.

Edit: Also, I don't see why MGMT (early sunset) --> FNM --> Muse doesn't seem reasonable. It makes sense to me...
