MGMT are playing the mainstage. And they are not playing after FNM, Muse or Tiesto. Which means they will be playing during the day.

That's evidence as much as anything that it's unlikely. I second the sentiment that you've gotta have MGMT on the main stage (or in the Sahara, I still wouldn't be shocked to see Hot Chip on the Outdoor and MGMT in the Sahara).

MGMT is not very exciting live, so I think they'll either play the Main Stage in the daytime (with an outside chance of closing the Outdoor Stage, ala Silversun Pickups last year).

Yeah, I highly doubt Hot Chip will be in the Sahara this year. I also have a hard time believing MGMT will play during the day. Especially considering how high they are billed.

Sia on the mainstage makes sense actually. She played at night in the mojave, during a headliner, in 08 and now they are going to move her to a daytime slot outside one of the tents. Mainstage makes the most amount of sense to me.

White Rabbits I could see there, who knows though. There is no reason to believe they would/wouldn't. But yeah, Raveonettes won't be.

Move Devo into the current Gossip space

I can't figure out where to place Hot Chip. I don't see them on the Main Stage, and they filled the Sahara in 2008, so I could see them closing it this year (just like The Rapture did in 2007). Would they play opposite Muse on the Outdoor Stage?

Even though I am sure the new album will suck balls, it is sure to be a huge album. It is also going to be their first show after the album drops. There is going to be a stupid amount of hype around this performance. Mainstage.

As far as MGMT goes. there are valid points on both sides.
For the time being. let's let em suck in on the Main stage. because UNFORTUNATELY that's what happens a lot of the time. (YYY's, TVOTR, Breeders, Gogol, etc..)

I'm more concerned about Devo's visual show. Do we think they will be able to do it on the Outdoor? Or are they playing the Mojave?

there's usually at least 25 minutes between sets on the Main.
and MGMT is getting 50 min, hands down.

Also, WhyTheLongFace, MGMT will not get a full hour. And FNM will need more than 10 minutes to set up. And Muse will need more than 15 minutes.
