Also the brunt of my posts in these threads have been suggestions on how I actually think things will shape up; I have only mentioned my wants/etc in passing.

Last year, this thread was started in March. This year, the thread was started a few days after the line up was released. No one is even talking about additions. I can tell we are all quite happy with the line up this year.

So true, josh. It is an excellent lineup and it's really refreshing to see everyone (including myself) so pleased!

Okay, so here's what's on my mind for Friday:

- Grace Jones in the Sahara wouldn't be a surprise. sunset or just after?
GJ> Erol> Benassi> Deadmau5? yay/nay? keep her in the Mojave?

- I didn't even notice that Boourns suggest Echo for the Sunset Outdoor slot. Echo>GB> Specials>PiL? That seems pretty goddamn good.

Why are the Cribs not on the Outdoor when they have said that is where they are playing?

Also Pablo Hasan myspace says 5pm (not a default time) Sahara - just saying.

Obviously we weren't aware of this.

What does everyone think?? Anything else?

Considering Pablo Hassan is the lowest billed Sahara act that day I have a hard time believing he will play at 5. Remember last year when Throbbing Gristle's myspace said they were playing at 7?

Also Pablo Hassan has a handle on this board (I think it's dj pablo hassan) so someone could PM him and ask him. But I don't know how often he checks it. I guess someone could message him on myspace as well.

We do need to consider myspace times to an extent though.. just not in the case or Mr. Hassan.

I thought so too. But I also think La Roux and LCD shouldn't conflict or overlap. (I've got them a little too close)

That's the exact opposite of a conflict.

No it's not. You're going to have to miss some of one, the other, or both because of time spent walking between stages, taking a piss, buying a frozen lemonade, etc... ideally you'd want 20 minutes between the end of one act and the start of another.

Also if you like getting a good spot, you're gonna need to be early to the stage.

yeah, gene.. with SO many acts playing, having the next act start within even 15 minutes of the last one ending is almost like a godsend.
we missed the first four songs or so of Portishead in 08, but it was still an incredible privilege just to see them.

I agree that 5 seems too late but I thought it was worth noting that a non-default time (and stage) was put on his myspace. At any rate - it seems like mining official website / pollstar / myspace pages could get you a much more accurate picture.

The Cribs Confirmed For Coachella Festival 2010

The Cribs will play Friday 16th April at Coachella Festival on the Outdoor Theatre Stage. Exact timings and details to follow - we look forward to seeing you there.

The Cribs played at 1:45 in 2007 in the mojave. Im guessing they will probably play around 3 on the Outdoor. They have Johnny Marr in the band now after all.

Here's something to chew on, everyone:
Ok, the top 3 names will all be on the Main. We know this.
Now, this year, there seems to be two "third lines".
AT LEAST ONE ACT each day on these lines will play the Mojave. You can count on it.
(like Beirut and X last year)

And, hardly ever does a good, well-billed act close the Mojave. And since everyone is convinced that Fever Ray will be in the Mojave, I am also convinced they won't be closing out the night. I see them playing between 8:30/9:00 with two acts to follow them.

Looking back at the past 3 years, more often than not the biggest name in the Mojave isn't the closer though so maybe your point still applies. Except for Throbbing Gristle, Black Keys in 2007 was the only other instance.
