A Grace Jones/Jay-Z conflict sounds like hell. Please say no.

Considering her most recent US performances, I think Grace Jones will be in Sahara. It would be an insult to put her in a stage smaller than Outdoor Theater.
I think you are overreacting. I too think Grace Jones will be performing either last or second last in the Mojave. She isn't big enough for the Outdoor, unless you want her in the early afternoon, and the Sahara just doesnt make much sense. Mojave it is.
This isn't Sahara?
^ i agree. Grace Jones in the Sahara during LCD on the main.
I STILL think you should account for the possibility that there will be a surprise set by Discovery (members from Vampire Weekend + Ra Ra Riot). They are playing on the same day! And they did a ridiculously awesome Jackson 5 cover that the polo fields need to hear. I'd think Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend would play the same stage back-to-back to make this possible. If not, I'd at least think they wouldn't be playing against each other on different stages.
I fucking hate Discovery, and I can't imagine in a million years that their music would translate well live.

Outdoor should go...
Grizzly Bear > The Specials > PiL > Echo & the Bunnymen
4/19-4/21 Coachella
5/25 Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Teebs @ The Fox Theatre
5/29 Tame Impala @ The Fox Theatre
??? Bjork @ The Craneway Pavilion
Grizzly Bear on the main stage please! None of this outdoor stage at sunset bullshit. Really. And you can take Vampire Weekend off the main stage and throw them in the Gobi.
This would easily be the most conflicted day in Coachella history for me...PiL/Baroness, Specials/Cribs, TCV/Echo, Grizzly Bear/Dillinger...please no. However, I do realize that most of these conflicts do not affect the majority of most people there.
The Black Angels - Explosions in the Sky - Amon Tobin - Madness - Yuck - GIRLS - WU LYF - M. Ward - Refused - Pulp

Just want to clarify that this isn't about everyone being happy. It's about trying to guess the set times accurately before they come out. So if it works out well for you, cool. If not, no one cares.

Why are the Cribs not on the Outdoor when they have said that is where they are playing?
Also Pablo Hasan myspace says 5pm (not a default time) Sahara - just saying.
Throbbing Gristle conflicted with the Cure right? TG wasn't a reunion per say, but it was close enough.
It's a conflict when one band you want to see ends just as another begins. I had to miss the second half of Depeche Mode to get a good spot for Daft Punk in '06, which I don't regret at all, but still that's a fucking conflict.
Has anything like this ever happened as a surprise at Coachella? It seems like people speculate about such things every year... but I can't think of any such thing happening.
(Oasis and the Chemical Brothers are both playing; maybe Noel will sing on "Setting Sun!" Both Mercury Rev and the Charlatans and the Chemical Brothers are playing, maybe we'll get live vocals for "the Private Psychedelic Reel" or "Life Is Sweet!"... and certainly other, non-Chemicals instances that I'm blanking on right now.)
This.
Anyway, my thoughts
Public Image Ltd vs Fever Ray (vs Baroness) would be brutal (for me.) I don't know how common of a conflict that would be, but, as noted, two rare performances against each other and the headliner sounds crazy.
I don't see Deer Tick playing the Gobi; I think they could pull a good crowd a couple hours earlier in the Mojave or even earlier on one of the outside stages.
Are the Avett Brothers really that much bigger than Lucero? I would've had Lucero playing later in the day, at any rate.
Sorry for no specific suggestions; I don't know enough about many of the (to me) minor players for Friday.
Ron Paul 2012!
Upcoming Shows:
Four Tet
Coachella 4/20-4/22
Death Cab for Cutie/Magik Magik Orchestra
Radiohead
some other bands
You people still don't get that this isn't about pleasing people. It's about trying to accurately guess what the set times will look like when they are released. Some will be pleased and some won't, that's just how it is. So unless you have something meaningful to say or a suggestion about scheduling that makes sense, NOBODY CARES if you like the order or not.
Sorry to come off like a dick.... but seriously.
