I'm sure of it
Mick Jagger
why wouldn't felt be there? Murs practically puts the fucking festival on.
Fugees reunion...
and the rest of LL.
That would get me down there.
Felt will most likely be there. I'm hoping Murs re-invites Blu and Exile.
FELT seems like the leading choice to headline this. Who else has new/relevant material that DIDNT tour with Rock the Bells last year? Souls of Mischief just came out with a new album.
Maybe Mystic Journeymen?
Wale?
Grouch and Eligh
Zion-I and the Grouch
Slaughterhouse seems like a no brainer as well, but they were brought in as "special guests" last year, maybe Royce solo?
Cannibal Ox, or just Vast Aire would be nice.
megalon is practically homeless right now. dudes brain is pretty much fried, cannibal ox won't happen. saw vast aire solo about a year ago and it was one of the worst performances i've ever seen in my life.
i've lost all interest in paid dues at this point. lineup never does anything for me. i saw felt once and it was great, but i wouldn't go out of my way to see them again, especially after this new album, shit is pretty horrible.
Madvillan.
Blu&Exile
J. Cole
Wale
Slaughterhouse
FELT
Grouch and Eligh and the rest of the LL..
I hope Brother Ali is there again. He was crazy last year.
Mos will definitely not be there. Maybe at Rock the Bells again like in 08?
For what its worth, Guerrilla Union added Mos Def as a late headliner to the during the Paid Dues "tour" in 2008 to the Berkeley show which was eventually canceled. Id always assumed it was because of poor ticket sales.
I dont think MURS owns Paid Dues, but he has a deep business relationship with Guerrilla Union as does Cypress Hill.
No complaints about that lineup really, though thats the biggest amount of names that they've ever announced for the paid Dues fest. Biggest standouts to me right now are the Dogg Pound and Freestye Fellowship as I dont think GU has ever booked them before. It'll be interesting to see if anyone gets booked for Rock the Bells later this year.
Hopefully Rock the Bells gets Mos Def and J. Cole...props to Paid Dues for putting Dom Kennedy on the lineup...
3/13-3/17 - SXSW - Austin
4/11 - The Shouting Matches - Pappy & Harriets
4/12-4/14 - Coachella Music & Arts Festival - Empire Polo Grounds
4/16 - Sigur Ros - Fox Theater Oakland
4/19 - Sigur Ros - Santa Barbara Bowl
4/22 - The Gaslight Anthem - Belly Up Tavern
6-2 - CHVRCHES - Belly Up Tavern
6/7-6/9 - Governors Ball Music Festival w/ Kanye West - Governors Island NYC
I probably wont make the trip out to Cali for this. But... Freestyle Fellowship would be a nice act to see. I have never seen all of them, only Mikah and Aceyalone.
Yea Im not planning on making the trip down from the bay area for this. I like the lineup and most of the acts and would be interesting seeing many on there that I havent yet, but Im really saving up for Coachella this year. GU got me and my buddies to make a trip down for the Smokeout Festival a few months ago.
I always go to Rock the Bells anyways which always trumps Paid Dues anyway.
Just saw this... Freestyle Fellowship would be awesome to check out, their 1st two albums were classics. I was actually just wondering what Aceyalone was up to these days.
Add Cube, Murs, Raekwon, Dilated, PUTS, Del, and this definitely seems worth the ticket to me.
EDIT;
Sick.. circa '93
