Not really. All I know is, there's this general consensus that "Jay-Z can't have been the original pick for headliner." But it's based on nothing. It's different than saying "Jay-Z is a weak headliner." There's a whole other jump in logic there that people are assuming because they think Jay-Z is a weak headliner, then there must have been another act pursued that "fell through", and that's just not supported by anything. So, all I'm asking is for someone to provide some reasonable explanation.

I don't think Jay Z is a weak headliner by any means. But I know (can't prove) he wasn't 1st choice. The show at the Staples should be proof right there.
