EVERYDAY SHOULD BE PLURSDAY
Still my favorite album of 2010...can't wait to see them at Coachella.
They are absolutely a must see for me.
However, for what it's worth (hopefully not much), David Cross just did a live ustream q&a thing, promoting his new comedy special, & at one point he said he loves Teen Dream, but that Beach House was "boring" live. I hope to fuck he's wrong. Or at least subdued is, to him, boring. I can live with subdued.
I'm hoping everyone will be at Muse so I can get very close.
In a perfect world, they would play at sunset.
05-12.2
There's a bunch of hype around Beach House (and there should be!). I don't anticipate that they will be playing so early in the day...
The maybe fake set times from the Monklish blog has them in the Gobi at 9. I do think Gobi is a good call. Beach House is going to help me have a really mellow (but wonderful) Saturday.

Too much emphasis on the crowd... just focus on the stage.
wasnt crazy about this band this time last year. but 10 mile stereo and norway have more than changed my mind
I was SUPPOSED to go to Beach House last night, but they opened the box office early. so instead of getting there before it opened and having tickets still available, they sold out before i even left. bull. shit.
So Beach House just became sort of a must-see for me. I just really hope there isn't much conflict.
Their set has barely been discussed by anybody. Was it any good?
I'm really curious because I'm going to be seeing them at another festival later this year and although I love their album, I suspect they'd be much better in a dark club than in an afternoon festival setting. Hopefully I'm wrong?
i was only vaguely familiar with them before their set, and only planned on catching a few songs but they had me hooked and i watched the whole show. i wouldn't use terms like "face melting" or "epic" (nor should anyone. EVER) but it was a solid performance
i guess Jay Z and Beyonce watched them too
likely many ended up staying in the sahara during their set. "zebra" to "take care" was one of my favorite moments of the fest. just lovely.
I thought they were good but not great. Id like to see them again though in a closed venue.
This act was one of my favorite surprises of the festival. I knew pretty much nothing about them and walked over and was immediately hooked. Their lead singer has a sort of magnetic Stevie Nicks persona and I really enjoyed her performance. Does anyone know the name of the last song they played? I can still remember the excitement I felt when that new drumbeat comes in halfway through. AWESOME!
10 Mile Stereo. Found it on the Setlists thread.
I thought they were pretty energetic and it was quite lovely for me. Though I did think the stage set ups with the twirling diamonds was a bit cheesy.

I thought their performance was great. I was surprised at how energetic they played their songs considering how mellow they are on their albums. It was one of my favorites of the weekend!
I thought they were absolutely amazing. The lead singer was just nailing her vocal lines - not sure if it was the tent, or the reverb, or both - but the sound was so dreamy yet powerful at the same time. The whole band seemed very into the performance...
I love what they said when they came out...something like "Hi, we are Beach House. We're here to cool you down. To mellow you out"
Dang, Coachella has to have been their first major performance with great reviews. They've always been called "terrible live" and pretty much everyone is in agreement now that Saturday was awesome, even those that had never heard their music before. Awesome that it was my first time seeing them after being obsessed for a few years.
I loved it, though maybe I wasn't wowed. I smoked way too much before the set started (conveniently after 4:20, sure I wasn't the only one) and I was starting to trip with really bad anxiety during the first part of their set... but then it was just amazing music to come down to -- wouldn't have had it any other way.
Too much Teen Dream material, but that's understandable considering what it's done for them so far and how much better live the stuff sounds. The 2 older songs were definitely standouts for me, but it was all great.
my favorite "discovery" of 2010 fosho
i actually didn't enjoy this set very much. i like their music, but the live show bored me to be honest. i left them to check out the end of white rabbits.
