About time!
Totally about time. Just can't believe how far down the bill they are and some of the goobers that are above them on the poster.
They have always been an underrated band. I hope a lot of people will check them out.
They're going to suck.
Trust me, give them only 50 minutes and they'll waste 30 of it jamming. That's what happened at Treasure Island.
They will not suck, but Coheed and Cambria will!
They will definitely not suck, but yes you can count on at least 20 minutes of jamming. With a short set time hopefully they'll tweak it some, I've seen them 3 times though and yet to be disappointed. Might skip them this year though if something else cool is on.
I will try to see them.
They won't play that song.
What they will play is something that sounds like Stockholm Syndrome and then blast into 20 more minutes of going-nowhere jamming.
I like my bands jammy, but I actually want them to have sets with actualy SONGS. Yo La Tengo arent the Mars Volta, for fuck sake.
I have to agree with Passive unfortunately. The last two times I've seen them they played the 20 minute bass jam from I Am Not Afraid Of You and it was boring as shit.
Maybe You La Tengo will be warned by Goldenvoice before the show not to jam too long and play more songs instead. However, that could be censorship, so they will squeeze in whateever they want during their set time.
A don't look back Painful set would be pretty fuckin sweet. I'll settle for "From a Moel 6" tho.
I'm surprised these guys are not headlining Overratedchella along with Sleater Kinney and Stereolab.
as long as they play "pass me the hatchet, i think im goodkind", ill be happy
i cant believe theyre billed so low....

I hope you are correct about the jamming. Gawd that would be awesome. They usually don't jam for over half of their set though....
I was a DJ in my college town when Autumn Sweater was all the rage. It's one of those songs that gets me all "goosebumpy"" with nostalgia.
Yo La Tengo were fantastic at Treasure Island. Don't listen to Passive. It also happened to be my first and only time seeing this elderly band, and I was more then satisfied with what I got. I was standing in the back of the crowd, I was freezing my ass off, the sound quality was poor, and I still had a blast. They did, in fact, play And the Glitter is Gone, it was their final song, and it was really the only song they performed that consisted of jamming one might consider 'excessive.' It was not excessive, though, in this listener's opinion, although it was admittedly lengthy. The song has a clear beginning and end to it. It goes somewhere.
Given them a late afternoon set on the Outdoor Theatre, I think they'll kill it.

Reid, you're fucking wrong, I'm sorry. That "performance" was terrible. I'm sure Yo La Tengo would be awesome on their own, when given 2-3 hours to perform, but that TI performance was the most bullshit performance I witnessed all year. They are not a festival band.
Obviously, since they played for more than 40 minutes.
