Default Final Headliner/ Sub-Headliner Prediction Thread

Ok, since it's about that time, let's make our final predictions on who will be on the bill. When you submit your predictions please use the following format. Top three on he main stage for each night, outdoor theater closer for each night, and the sahara headliner for each night. Finally, make one big reunion prediction. If you predict the most correct you get to have a frozen lemonade and a spicy pie with MJA and PTA!! Hooray!!

Friday Main- Them Crooked Vultures-> Soundgarden-> Muse
    Friday Outdoor Closer- MGMT
    Friday Sahara- LCD Soundsystem

Saturday Main- Faith No More-> Beastie Boys-> Jay-Z
    Saturday Outdoor Closer- Spoon
    Saturday Sahara- Orbital

Sunday Main- Vampire Weekend-> Pavement-> Gorillaz
    Sunday Outdoor Closer- Dead Weather
    Sunday Sahara- Thom Yorke

    Reunion Prediciton- XTC

Thom Yorke won't be in the Sahara...nor would he be on the same time as Gorillaz.

First, he could close out the fest the way several Sahara acts have instead of competeing with Gorillaz. Second, have you heard his solo album? Electronic right? LCD transforms their studio efforts into a full band setting and plays in the Sahara. Why can't Yorke?

It's an interesting prediction, for lack of better words. Still, I believe Jay-Z is simply being talked about because nobody fucking knows what the story is with this "mystery headliner", and if anything Jay-Z is a decoy thrown out there by Goldenvoice.

There's occasionally a rogue act in the Sahara I don't consider dance music.

Hmmm, if I can critique your picks, I think your Outdoor Closers are too consistent with them being all influential 70s/80s acts and I don't see it happening all 3 nights.

For the sake of them conflicting with Soundgarden.

    "It's in the K" - Martha Stewart

Since the show list is very minimal...
    August 29 // Chemical Brothers w/ Chromeo & Yacht @ Hollywood Bowl
September 26 // Vampire Weekend w/ Beach House & the Very Best @ Hollywood Bowl
October 5 // ARCADE FIRE @ Henry Miller Library
October 13 // Corin Tucker Band @ The El Rey
(someone should give me Sufjan Stevens tickets, aint got none of those)

Every year, we are surprised by at least one headliner. They managed to keep Rage, Waters, Portishead, Prince and The Cure mostly under the radar. I'd be really surprised if we saw Muse-Jay Z-Gorillaz. It's just too predictable.

Portishead were never under the radar. THey were pretty much guaranteed when they said they were releasing a new album.

Predictable isn't the right word. The only one of those that anyone would have predicted a couple months ago is Muse. If it turns out that Jay-Z and Gorillaz headline, it's not that they were predictable choices but that they were choices that managed to leak.
4/27 Ghost B.C. @ Fonda, 4/30 Mono @ Troubadour, 5/3 I Break Horses @ Bootleg Theater, 5/19 Lykke Li @ The Theatre at Ace, 5/28-6/1 Primavera Sound, 6/18-22 Sled Island
