Am I the only one who doesn't like these guys?
I didn't watch them, but people said they were awful opening for Radiohead in '08.

They weren't awful, they just have a very...particular style. And if you don't like it you REALLY hate them.

Gonna go listen to Sisterworld now for the first time. I'm SO excited. Can't wait to see them again in May, either!
I am going. I am totally going to get the version of Sisterworld with all the remixes and whatnot.
HEALTH for 2010
Holy shit. Sisterworld is amazing. Just rocked the fuck out half the time upon first listen.
Oh, and also, I'm buying this in March and always do so after I download new shit (or any shit, for that matter I guess). Support musicians--they work their asses off and we reap the benefits. *steps down off soapbox
Holy shit. That's a lot of music.
I guess when you factor in what shows you go see, too, then it ups the amount we put toward supporting musicians.
and you see... the thing about this is, I dont check the upcoming shows thread. So if they didnt make a completely new thread just to mention that show, which is blasphemy around here....
because how dare some lurker just WALTZ into this forum and dirty up my board with new threads *sarcasm*
I <3 new threads
*based upon tedious fact checking.
I feel quite disappointed by the new album, quite a few people were saying it was the new Drums not Dead which is one of my favourite albums of all time, but when I gave it a listen it just kind of passed me by. Maybe i should give it a few more listens, I really hope I get to see them again, I saw them in Liverpool on thier Self-titled tour supported by Deerhunter. Easily one of the best shows i've been to.
it takes a minute to click. they will not disappoint, listen more..
Is this the first use of strings from them?
"No Barrier Fun" has strings for sure.
I haven't listened to Sisterworld in a long time apparently. That seems to be just the one cello loop though.

Scissor, No Barrier Fun, Here Comes the People, and Goodnight Everything all have cello and violin/viola, and Goodnight Everything has Bassoon and Trombone as well.

I should have been more specific. There are entire string sections on WIXIW. This is immaterial, I just wanted to bump a Liars specific thread because the new album is fine apple wine.
Truth. So what's the speculation of what their set lists are gunna look like? I'd love to see reinterpretations of Drums Not Dead tunes with these new instruments, but a man can only dream.
I would like to see a lot of Drums Not Dead, along with "Houseclouds" and "Sailing to Byzantium", which would presumably fit into these sets more organically than in the past few tours. Also, I hope they don't forsake "Broken Witch" because it always makes me want to riot.

Oops. That's really hard to hear when you're writing a song, and it's not something I've really opened up to before. It's all made within the computer. Still to this day I'm trying to figure out how I made some of those sounds. Experienced electronic artists would probably save some presets or whatever, but I never did that when I was working, because I get excited about things and move on.
In other news the vinyl copies finally shipped today from the sandbag site. 10-20 days.
I'm sure you probably know this but if you like Drum's Not Dead, check out this LP...
