    Default (unconventional) Jazz and Funk

This is what Coachella needs to expand the musical horizons.
Some jazz and funk artists (bands or solos),think about bands like Medeski Martin and Wood or some experimental jazz bands like the Jaga Jazzist.
I'm talking about not common jazz and funk if you know what i mean, even if there are a lot of interesting and amazing artists in that department.

Think about a place @ the festival for artists like these ones:

The Herbaliser are a good mix of funk/urban and "soul" music

Quantic Soul Orchestra with their funky and latin grooves

    Nostalgia 77

    Hot 8 Brass Band

    Forro In The Dark

    Hazmat Modine

Jaga Jazzist was pretty cool. And if there can be token hip hop and scene acts, why not jazz as well? *shrugs*

I'm talkin about "unconventional" jazz and funk, and the jaga are really far from the classic jazz.

I don't mind a little experimentation within the lineup, but as a rule: no.

Jazz is fun to play but excruciating to listen to, IMO. Which is why I fly all the way to California every year for Coachella but never set foot inside the jazz club across the street.
