    Default Indian Wells Resort Hotel

So, I just made a reservation at the Indian Wells Resort Hotel, and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on the quality/distance of this place? (Distance from Coachella, of course) It was the best deal I could find, since we can't camp (16 year old daughter)... and this is our first Coachella after years of Lollapalooza and Voodoo.

    Anyone? Anyone? Thanks in advance!

Well, the obvious reason is that the FAQ/Rules say nobody under 18 can camp - and everyone needs an official ID.

The secondary reason may have something to do with the rampant references to rape on the campgrounds. I mean, I like my daughter. Rape is a little harsh.

Quoted from the Coachella 2010 info site...
    * All campers MUST be 18 years of age or older & have a valid I.D or be accompanied by legal guardian. .. Sorry NO exceptions.

That's weird. They added that line since I purchased my tickets - it totally wasn't there before. I read that page about four times to be sure.

Of course, that was before I cued on all the rape comments. Much funnier on a message board than in person!

Traffic is going to suck hwy 111! You may want to book somewhere closer because the time you leave the festival grounds and arrive back at indian wells your going to spend more time getting there than sleeping

This Resort is really Nice. Indian Wells is like one of the weathiest cities in Ca.
Its about a 15 minute drive from Coachella.
If you have any other questions about the Valley let me knopw im a resident and usually offer advice to lost festival goers.

If 111 Is clogged then depending on what street you get flushed out of I.E. Washington Jefferson or Monroe pass 111 and go all the way to Down to Fred Waring Drive its almost to the Free way but you can take Fred Waring up to El Doardo Drive (left) then COme back down 111 and bam your at your hotel.

Fred Waring is a mini 111 less traffic!!!

They say that place was built over an Indian burial ground... They say weird and grotesque things happen at night.

You know a festival is in the process of dying when you start to see sports jerseys there....

Indian Wells gets its name from a natural well/water hole that used to be in this city that the indians would stop by and drink up at on their travels.

ALL the burial grounds are under the Multi Million dollar Golf Resorts that odd enough are under leases from Indian Tribes.

This is good information. Mostly for the drive to the festival. The drive home is ALWAYS cool. I always stay in PS, and the drive home is NEVER as bad as the drive in.
