could not be truer. its among the worst places ive gone to see EDM ever. i hate the sound, boring ass lights, etc, etc. can't knock whoever does their booking tho

actually i really dig the soundsystem and lighting--i thought that was the only decent part about this place, aside from the artists they're booking. drink prices once you get in (if you get in) are fucking ridiculous, and the way they do the lines is absolutely atrocious, not letting people buy tickets at the door is a sham, my friends were waiting in a stalled line for 2 hours before we finally bailed before plumps. given it was a last minute decision for them to even come, i would have recommended buying tickets in advance if i could have.

but yeah, fuck you, Avalon. ;]

The lighting at Avalon is really hit or miss. They have an incredible setup, its just the usually choose not to use it all. The LED wall is spectacular but Ive only seen it used twice out of the 10+ times ive been there. The projectors are pretty cool too.

The sound is great if your in the pit, if not its pretty average. Avalon was originally built as a theatre, 80 years ago, with a sloped seating floor (the stage now is some 5ft above the original stage) so the acoustics were never designed for what is it right now.
