    what i gave:

    • mom: white scarf (since she lives up north now), citrusy smelling soap from sephora, vintage jade earrings, wine glasses to match her margarita glasses (she doesn't have any at her new house), and a smallish green ceramic dish that looks like a bird for her to put her ladles on when cooking. i also topped her presents with a high heel sequin ornament, peppermint candy looking bath fizz, and a high heel necklace from forever 21.
    • dad: extended battery for his phone, case for his phone, dock for his phone, trunk organizer (since he's always driving to see my mom and his car is a mess), and a small organizer he can clip anywhere in the car for his phone and glasses and stuff.
    • brother: knives since he cooks a lot of vegetables and a calendar of the 365 stupidest things ever said (he is fucking hard to shop for).
    • pants: radiohead "you used to be alright, what happened" WASTE t-shirt
    • joann/secret santa: pj harvey t-shirt
    • DIY secret santa: space filler till i see they received it
    • amy (IFA): octopus necklace, large ceramic mushroom, and a shadowbox with three plants, one of which is a mushroom
    • girlfriend #1: solid silver scuba diving flag pendant (she teaches diving)
    • girlfriend #2: silver hello kitty comb from sephora, hello kitty pink glitter nail polish, and a necklace with a robot pendant
    • girlfriend #3: vintage strawberry shortcake dish in the shape of a strawberry, great condition (she collects vintage strawberry shortcake stuff)
    • girlfriend #4: pamper kit, with philosophy face wash, exfoliating wash cloth & eye mask
    • male friend #1: national geographic book on photography (he's a photographer)
    • male friend #2: winter brew from beaver creek brewing company
    • male friend #3: whenever customer service gets back to me, i'll be purchasing that map of the world where you scratch off the countries you've visited that coutney posted
    • barb: hello kitty bracelet & barretts, glow necklaces & sparklers
    • friends & family: homemade fudge, cookies & brownies

    what i got:
    • harkins movie t-shirt for free popcorn all year & gift card (a staple)
    • hair dryer (i haven't had one since i was kid, and that one was shaped like a duck and stood on duck feet)
    • flying fuck! (thanks kory!)
    • flower painting & hair chopsticks with a matching flower (thanks HTD!)
    • beautiful purple & white earrings (thanks IFA!) these are perfect since my other purple pair broke

    • extremely soft brown leather & fur purse
    • laminated photoshop picture my friend made & a church key (bottle opener) from budapest
    • cash money
    • a puzzle with some dogs on it (my mom and i have been making puzzles together up north)
    • jasmine lime soap in a peacock tin
    • lucky brand bracelets (the three silver ones with the amethyst)
    • lucky brand red stripped shirt
    • vanilla sugar diffuser (the wood has little snowflakes on top)
    • creamy vanilla icing paper soap (never used it before, interesting)
    • laura mercer pink lip gloss
    • SD memory card for the wii (more rock band songs bitches!)
    • headphones
    • wired headset for my phone
    • and a few other things i haven't received yet

Seeing my family TOTALLY turned my shitty day upside down; xmas usually reminds me of my dogs violent death a few years back. In addition to that, a former friend who I used to create videos with recently posted a music video two days ago that was my concept totally stolen and bastardized, then the traffic to OC. Jesus.

Family was awesome, everyone was tasting the wine, from my little sister to my grandfather. We had a ton of fun opening presents and I got the best pictures ever of my filipino grandfather flossing some Abercrombie and Fitch cologne and some money. Pictures will come soon.

My sister rewrapped some PS3 games that I had bought for the house already as a joke, and I also got a PS3... My sisters also got me a copy of MW3 so we can kill eachother from remote locations.

Our shitzhu Elvis opened up a bunch of presents last night that weren't his. He was not impressed with the blue frisbee he got.

Now to smoke copious amounts of ganja and finish merry xmas texting..

Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

Highlights for me were a massive selection of drill bits and cutting wheels for my new flexshaft, a giant cast metal insect the size of a closed fist, an inkwell with two glass pens, and a Midori notebook with a bunch of refills.

Between the drill accessory selection and the heavy duty bar blender I also got, I'm not really sure there's anything I can't destroy.

Normally this wouldn't bother me, but Andy rescued this cat. He found him as a kitten wandering around the airport. He brought him home to our apartment, where we already had 4 cats, and told me we couldn't keep him. He was the sweetest, most sociable kitten. Just wanted to be held and loved. So we gave him to his mom...and he turned into a spook, I assume from being shuffled around. It just broke my heart.

So last night, we decided to flush him out of the guest bedroom. Andy lifted the bed, and I picked him up. AND HE LET ME. I don't think he liked Andy's voice, so he stayed under the dining room table all night. But he would let me go over and pet him and rub his ears, and by the end of the night, he let me hold him like a baby for a good 5 minutes. I was in heaven. I almost started crying, like a wuss. But that seriously made my Christmas.
Awww. Thats adorable Becca. Im glad he warmed up to you guys.

My cat lives at my parents place, so whenever I come to visit, he always follows me around everywhere I go. Last night, he curled up under the Christmas tree as we were opening presants and watched the whole thing. It was already a great day and him sitting under the tree just warmed my heart so much and made the day that much better.

    Becca: that's great.

My friends/neighbors went on a 2 week vacation for the holidays and left their cat all alone, asking us to "check in every 4 or 5 days to make sure he had water and food and maybe clean the litter." These people are the worst cat parents ever. Sebastian and I go over there every day and the cat is so obviously lonely and is so excited to have company. I felt so bad yesterday because we were gone at my parents and only spent about 30 minutes there, so today I'm heading over with a book to spend a few solid hours hanging with him.

I got this sweet portable turntable, a LP carrying case, a 7" carrying case and the Horehound LP. I busted out an old Tom Petty album this morning. I am having too much fun. Can't wait to get some more albums.

While we're on the subject of cats. I came home from my parents house yesterday to drop off all my stuff and I couldn't find one of my cats. She was sleeping in the sink.

Figure I'd join in the cat talk. Borrowed a trap to get the bunch of savages away from my house. Pretty excited.

I don't hate cats, but I thoroughly dislike cats that are left out to destroy everything.

My best friend made me these Love & Rockets shirts

I originally asked for a blue one to match Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven, but I think the red one is pretty sharp too.

Pooping, pissing, tearing up plant life and generally being pieces of shit. But I'm sure whoever leaves them out, out tossed them out really loves them. I guess it should be ok, though, they are really cute and stuff.

My french uncle's brother got pretty toasted at our xmas eve dinner and enlightened the family about shortcomings in american restaurant wait staff etiquette, proper cheese cutting technique, abortion (conservative, super awkward), and foreign policy (the US needs to close embassies and bring everyone home to save money). Good times.

If they were domesticated animals that were abandoned, they are not "savages," and there is probably a reason they are behaving this way. Or maybe they are just feral cats who can smell what a stupid dipshit you are and are treating you accordingly.

Good times this weekend. My only problem is attending parties where I'm specifically told not to bring gifts because there is no gift giving, only to be given a gift by the host. I tried to ditch the gift twice, only to have someone yell out loud, "who left their gift on the table?" Success for them if their intention was to make me feel uncomfortable. No, I’m never gonna eat at Applebee’s.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Either way, they're going away soon.

On a serious note, what would you smart people recommend? I'm obviously the heartless dumbass who thinks they should have a proper home and be fed.

Ummmhmm. It was given along with the comment something like "you guys are always going out to eat and trying places". Apparently, they weren't listing to the places I frequent. The commercials alone tell me that this isn’t my kind of place.

I hate deceiving commercials. They always show a big steak and big ass pieces of shrimp for a cheap price then a hand with a fork lays over the plate and get the idea that the steak is as big as that person’s thumb.
