It seems like Coachella will tip you off on who will be hitting most of the major summer fests in the U.S... But I give credit to Lolla for usually having their own unique headliners at the top. I only went in '08, but they had 3 separate different headliners from Coachella (granted these headliners did headline a few other fests). Last year the only crossover headliner was the Killers right? I guess what I'm getting at is eventhough a lot of the same groups/artists we see on the Coachella bill (and the 'Roo wand whatever other fest that happens before Lolla') will be at Lolla, I hope Lolla finds some uniqueness with their headliners... but not "Gaga" uniqueness lol.
For me (like Stinkbutt, Stickjohn, etc) being from the Twin Cities area, it's a 6 hour road trip for us in the summer. It's a natural weekend road trip for a lot of people in Minnesota. So the 'fest, regardless of the annoying attendees, is a good destination for us.
It sucks that we can't camp, because the hotels are expensive as hell if you don't have any friends/family living in the area. That and I found "cheap" downtown parking at $30/day lol (will fly and take public transportation this year).
As far as all the corporate sponsorship and such, there is quite a bit, but it's not like a band will say "we now interrupt this performance for a word from our sponsor- is the 90 degree sun beating you down? Head over to the Sweet Leaf Ice Tea stand after this performance and choose from one of their 20 different flavors... want something harder, try a Mike's hard lemonade"... I mean it's around, but I don't think it gets in the way of the performance.

Jamiroquai 2014 please.
I need to start practicing fence hopping now.

I don't think so....
I throw a party at my roof top on LSD at Addison every year except 2009. I was in Australia this past Lolla and missed it
Party is usually the Thursday night before the festival. However it depends on weather. It can become unbearably windy 30 floors up on the lake in the windy city. I am sure we can plan something out a few days before....
All Coachella board members are more than welcome. Send me a private message for more info in August. Or try and find me at Coachella, I will be the guy with the long hair.

There are actually plenty of places to get through that don't have fence. Some of the places you can sneak in are through bushes and shrubbery or other landscaping around the park. I know someone who did it the year Rage played. I usually buy my ticket the week of Lolla for about $200. I don't like paying more because I only plan on seeing sets in the evenings a couple of the days and maybe one full day depending on how things are scheduled.
some guy on the CoS is claiming these are the headliners but is unsure about the 6th:
yes anyone can post on the CoS board but if you remember last year someone on there also had the 6 headliners in advanced. Which I believe they already do, if Perry Farrell last comments were to be believed.Mark on Feb 9th, 2010 at 11:41 pm
