Just repeating some rumors from this site www.jambase.com
Wilco walks that funny line of being considered an alt/country band and a jamband. Some Wilco fans complain about their lives shows being "way too jammy" while other hippie douchebags complain about them "not jamming enough." Whatever, I love Wilco and I hope this rumor is true.

I hope it's true too. I wonder if this would get me there.
If I may Amy. I would suggest two albums for you to start with. Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. If you don't enjoy those albums, you probably won't enjoy Wilco, unless of course your love is more for the alt. country sound. If that were the case you should just start at the beginning with AM. I can always put together some sort of mix for you if you prefer that but you can't go wrong with Yankee Hotel or Summerteeth.
Here's one of my favorites Amy. It's a live version from Bonnaroo 2007. I love this one for the songwriting as well. It starts out strong.
"I dreamed about killing you again last night and it felt alright to me, dying on the banks of embarcadero skies, I sat and watched you bleed, buried you alive in a fireworks display raining down on me, your cold, hot blood ran away from me to the sea"

She never even said you may, Faxino![]()
Ok, I listened to those. I don't really like them at first listen, although I do like the organ (?) part on "She's a Jar." Sleepy vocals, country-ish sound, which is not what I'd normally listen to. I know a lot of you love the hell out of Wilco though, so I might try again or try other stuff.
Fair enough.
In my last ditch effort.
Shot in the Arm
I'm the Man Who Loves You
Or maybe just some Nels on Handshake Drugs?
Their last release "Wilco (the album)" is what finally got me into them

Ty Segall - 8/27 - Mohawk

Austin City Limits - 10/4 - 10/6 - Zilker Park

String Cheese, STS9, Umphrey's, Yonder Mountain, Disco Biscuits, Eoto, Pretty Lights are all extremely solid acts to be seeing at one festival.
You just have to accept that it's a different style of festival, different type of people (in a good way for the most part), and a different type of energy. I mean, you are comparing Coachella (basically LA culture) to Michigan.
see you in '12
this festival supposedly isn't happening this year
Cancelled!!! Boner Jams 2010!

Maybe Radiohead next year? This would be their kind of festival anyways.
During the past three years, all of us involved with ROTHBURY have greatly appreciated the tremendous outpouring of support for the future of the festival. For 2010, we have had to make the tough decision to postpone our efforts. A contributing factor in our decision is that, due to various artists’ recording and touring schedules, we now believe that timing will not allow for us to assemble the cutting edge roster that everyone has come to expect from ROTHBURY. The result for this year is that we are not able to move forward with the integrity and high standards that we demand from ourselves and for the festival.
Despite the 2010 postponement, we intend to move toward continuing ROTHBURY in 2011. This event is something very special, and we are unwilling to potentially tarnish what ROTHBURY is, and can become, by working under conditions that will produce anything less than a magical experience.
ROTHBURY is more than a festival. It is a mission intended to discover strength in community, and what it means to be a large-scale sustainable event in these times. Our efforts are certainly not coming to an end.
It is important for us to thank the people of Michigan, Oceana County, The Village of Rothbury, Grant Township, and the Double JJ Resort. Also, we thank our team members, volunteers, creative contributors, media partners, and sponsors. We have made many friendships that will last a lifetime.
To all who attended the first two years of ROTHBURY we thank you for the soul you gave the event. Those times entered rarified air because of your energy.
We hope you have a fantastic July 4th this summer.

Radiohead haven't performed in Michigan since 1998. Green festival or not, I'd be fucking shocked to see them back here.
*edit - 1997. My bad. Wish I would have been at that show.*

I have faith it'll be back next year. They recognize they have something good in their hands here.
Man, I really wish I couldve gone one of these years. I really hope they dont crack down and start putting up all these rules and shit. If theres anything I hate, its fucking rules

Phoenix I can understand, I've asked the same question re: smaller bands and why a lot of them skip Phoenix for Tuscon and what I was told was due to the kind and availabilty of venues. I am pretty sure its the same deal in Phoenix, still a pretty new city and not many great outdoor venues on par with Red Rocks, Hollywood Bowl, SB Bowl, Blossom Music Center, etc. I don't if its the same thing for Detroit but maybe both just suffer from being so close to a major cities (Chicago to Detroit and LA to Phoenix)?
