he was amazing when i saw him in 2006. i would say it's about time for a greatest hits Coachella performance, but he is too wrapped up in the BQE and classical writing right now. wouldn't translate live well, at least to people who don't absolutely adore all of his work like i do..

After the amazing Leonard Cohen performance last year I'm down for more singer/songwriter types at coachella. Bring on Sufjan, Tom Waits, Scott Walker, Nick Cave, etc.

Actually when I saw him in September he played a bunch of great new stuff, no BQE or classical, if anything it was more rock/noise leaning and then pulled out the banjo and played 45 minutes of illinois and seven swans material.
