I have been saying every year I want a comedy tent Thursday night. And/Or some comedy acts in between a couple sets during weekend...



and if they do the dome again lets get different dj's in there everynight.

I would rather go to the Filter Party on Thursday night than a comedy night. Comedy maybe could take place in the Do Lab during Coachella itself.

i just hope they move the do lab farther away from the outdoor theatre this year cause the noise bleed last year ruined a few of the performances for me, especially fleet foxes and band of horses.

It was some theatre act/street performance that was put on by a group of people. They performed the show (which takes a few days) in a few cities over Europe I think. Here's the wiki on it:

I remember reading once that creators got fed up with the show and destroyed the original elephant, but some other company built a replica?? Not sure if that is true though.

Coachella was awesome last night.

The artwork was out of this world. There was like a 10 story tall mechanical elephant that WALKED around the polo grounds - and at the top of the Elephant DJ Sets with the best view of the festival.

I dunno,but as far as the campground goes they should bring back the strategically placed PA speakers bumpin' throughout a la 2008,so that when everyone is setting up shop we could all plur out going late into the night .

Comedians touring schedules are pretty rough. It's rarely Seattle to San Francisco to LA to Phoenix to Austin. It's a bunch of jumping around the country for a couple weeks then staying at home for awhile. Unfortunately, a lot of them book their tours almost a year in advance, so you'd likely have to find a bunch of one-off comedians to do a tent or a Thursday night comedy gig for Coachella. I'd imagine that unless you're only using Los Angeles-based comedians, it would be hard to get enough acts to have anything entertaining. All Points West had comedians, because it was an easy commute for the NYC-based comedians. Bonnaroo set a precedent for themselves early on and have had a successful comedy tent. Their proximity to NYC isn't great, but it's not the redeye pain in the ass flight for comedians to make it to Coachella.

The comedy tent at roo is a complete waste of time. I'd be fine with some comedians with sets on the regular stages though.

anyone catch the comedians of comedy a few years back? That was such a nice way to start the day... the dude from The Hangover was fuckin hilarious. I would like to see something like this again, I'm typically just sitting down for the first few acts anyway...

And can we please put the dome in a spot with living grass? The dust this year essentially ruined it for me. (sensitive eyes)
