After Europe, it’s on to the U.S. for more tour dates, again at “larger size” venues. The band is also plotting appearances at two major music festivals (because of ongoing negotiations, we were asked not to name names, but here’s a hint: one takes place in a desert and the other is very indie)

What I find most interesting is that CoS went from this little off the radar website over the past two years that wrote about whatever music its writers liked and didn't really have much of a direction to a website that still looks kind of all over the place but then festival season comes around again, and they pull this out of their hat.

Alex got this interview, right? That's a huge get for a website many people wrote off a year ago. I think last year they proved themselves as a more reliable source, and this year they're confirming it (pun intended) by actually showing us the big names giving them the time of day in interviews, etc.

It's a 99% certainty, as long as the money negotiations finish up.
That comes directly from the band.

CoS printed it as a confirmation, but was asked to take it down and water it down a little because the business end of things wasn't signed sealed and delivered quite yet.

i am glad to see someone else agrees that pavement won't be headlining should they be put on the bill (since you assume a band will be playing after them) but devo will not be one of the bands playing after pavement. no.

watch slow century dvd. tons of amazing live footage. It was impossible for me to make it through without yelling "fuck" outloud because i just kept getting my mind blown.

If a boarder/blogger cannot get a confirmation directly from a band... your "confirmed" list is going to be awfully short until January.

I know I'm new to this board, but I've been Lollaboarding for a really long time.

Alot of very solid confirmations have come from an interview Alex has done and written about on CoS, or just told us about on the board.

Just because he printed an article about it rather than coming on here to tell you directly does not negate the FACT that this confirmation came directly from the band.

When its just speculation, Alex is usually very careful to tell you so.
But when its real... Its real.

Just my opinion, which may not mean much, but I think you're crazy not to call this Confirmed.

i will give CoS credit for seemingly improving over the course of this past year and i seriously doubt they would fake an interview. however, i have yet to see anything that says "Pavement. Coachella. Definitely Happening" so i will not bank on this yet but i'll let you say "i told you so" if this is the case. deal?

also, you refer to alex by first name and live in chicago. isn't there a CoS office in chicago? is it safe to assume you contribute and / or work for CoS? you are sweating them very hard right now.

Stranger things have happened..this will be my 10th Coachella so Pavement before Devo wouldn't be so crazy...say Pavement at 7 - 8:20 ..DEVO at 8:45 - 10 and headliner at 10:25 - close

Devo headlined Main Stage at Street Scene (2007) and they are gonna come out with a big A/V show next year...why not put them on the mainstage?

If they can put Crowded House before Manu Chao/RATM (crazy as that was) ....then why not Pavement into Devo into Headliner?

haha mine too. I'd wager they are probably on 75 percent of those pools. It's almost a match made in heaven with their reunion announcement. Coachella would be foolish not to at least go after them...since they'll want first dibs in the US Fest circuit.
