I really hate how hipsters think they're doing something different when they go to raves. SMD, Boys Noize, etc are as "stereotypically ravey" as it gets.
Examples of what? Hipsters going to raves and claiming that they're not raves? Every HARD event.
Jesus you're so pissed Tim. Calm down. I interpreted your sentence in a different way.
And I agree. They are in rave denial.
THEY ARE NOT RAVES THEY ARE EVENTS LIKE OMG WHATEVER
she should stop listening kraftwerk.
saying that 'electronica' should be like them or early 80s is just dumb.
I can understand how electronic dance music gets a bad rep with a lot of music fans. There's an excess of shit, and a lot of it is popular enough to become the ambassador for the whole thing, ravers can be pretty retarded, and it's music fundamentally designed to make people dance more than to be listened to around the house, and Americans as a whole are pretty dancephobic. A lot of people need an entry point like Kraftwerk. It takes awhile to connect the dots and find the value in less pop-centric electronic music. I know I needed 80's electro and Warp to come to appreciate more straightforward shit. Not sure I have a point here.
And the bait is set...
I think Dani has good taste in music, although I disagree with her about Michael Jackson.
