OFFICIAL RULES

Requirements:

You MUST list 25 bands. Headliners are required, so the first three names on your list will be considered your headliner predictions. For correct headliner guesses, you will be rewarded three points for each. All other correct predictions will count as one point. If you predict a band as a headliner but they end up NOT being a headliner but still a performer, they will count as one point. If you predict a band as a performer and they end up being a headliner, you get one point (not three, since you didn’t exactly call it correctly). Make sense?

E-mail me your predictions: jadel74@yahoo.com. I’d rather not get PM’s because I always forget to clean those out and I don’t want anyone’s stuff getting bounced back.

Like last year, you can resubmit your list as often as you wish until the deadline, but keep in mind that in the event of a tie, the poster with the fewest resubmits and/or the earliest final submission, will win. Again, like last year, if a band gets confirmed and added to the “restricted” list before the deadline and you’ve already submitted your list with that band on it, you get the point for it, even though that band is restricted for everyone else. Early bird gets the worm.


Prize:

2006 vintage item and some sweet headphones from Vinyl (plus bragging rights). Sorry guys, that cat trophy was like $900.


Deadline:

All entries must be sent via email by November 1. Since confirmations are already starting to trickle in, it's prudent to start and end early. I'll post everyone's submissions on November 2 for the lolz.


Misc:

Just like the last two years, bands that are considered "confirmed" will be restricted. Fortunately, we’re starting early this year, so the “confirmed” list is rather short. The restricted list will tie in directly to Summerkid's confirmed list. He seems to have his head on straight, so if he makes the decision that a band is confirmed, it becomes restricted. As stated before, if you pick a band and submit it, and it becomes restricted after you submit your list, it will still count.

Confirmed bands are obviously void. You should decide who's "confirmed" or not, Jen. But if you submit your list before they're "confirmed" it counts. I'd do this:

30 bands
Headliner - 3 points
1st Subhead - 2 points
The rest - 1 point

You have to declare your Headliners and Subheads, three each. You could put Radiohead etc. in the regular mix and if they're a headliner you'd only get one point. Same for Subheads.

Wait... the 2nd band on the second line doesn't count as a "sub," do they? For example, this year My Bloody Valentine was a sub headliner. I wouldn't count YYYs as a sub though.

Good contribution, but I don't think breaking out subs is a good idea. Remember the year the poster was all jumbled? Honestly seems like way too much of a gray area.

So I have 18 bands so far. Most of them pretty big names. I feel pretty confident in my list. Im going to have throuble filling the last 7 spaces though.

Question... what about duos? I'll give an example, Skream & Benga. Two different artists but they tend to be billed as one act but not all the time. So if we had Skream & Benga listed, would we get credit if only one played. How much if both played but not together? Or what if we list them seperately but are billed together?

for instance.. T.M.E. up here just said Skream & Benga... if he used that but say, they ended up in the dome, does he get a point?

I have a few more smaller acts now... but my Sahara list is lacking. However last year the only Sahara act I got correct was the Chemical Brothers, but I don't even think that one counted because they were added so late. So I think I might just limit my Sahara predictions.

I think Dome artists should count, pretty much anybody who ends up playing should count. And I thought late adds counted too so the Chems wouldve gotten you points.
