Though, I've been underwhelmed by the start of 30 Rock so far in the new season...hopefully it'll pick up.

this week's 30 Rock episode is the first episode of this new season to deliver some chuckles. finally, some quality.

i've recently discovered Modern Family. to my utter surprise and glee, ABC totally knocks one out of the park with this mockumentary-style comedy. it is fabulous, check it out if you haven't. Community, Modern Family and It's Always Sunny are my Fall 2009 comedy staples.

i've recently discovered Modern Family. to my utter surprise and glee, ABC totally knocks one out of the park with this mockumentary-style comedy. it is fabulous, check it out if you haven't. Community, Modern Family and It's Always Sunny are my Fall 2009 comedy staples.

Modern Family is great! Look foreward to it every week. Though, because I watch Glee as well, I watch Glee live and MF on Hulu (as they are on at the same time).

Anyway, Joel McHale is surprisingly more fit than I would have thought.

ahhhh, i loved last night's episode. the chemistry between Jeff & Annie made me giggle like a school girl. i'm purposefully choosing to ignore the creepy fact that Jeff is 38 and Annie is only 18.

did i hear Edward Sharpe's "Home" thrown in towards the end?

This week's was the best so far. The writing is really starting to kick in, and the actors are finding their groove.

This week was golden. Pierce in particular was on fire.

Also, Pierce missing a chance to make an obvious blowjob joke was funnier than actually making it.

Other good stuff...including Anthony Michael Hall as a meathead bully...

(Abed singing while decorating Troy) "Oh Christmas Troy, oh Christmas Troy, much pleasure canst thou give me..."

Everytime someone said something about Annie being "A Jew", she would yell "Say the whole word!". (To which Pierce says "Jewie?")

Annie putting the baby Jesus in the tree instead of the manger was awesome.

Troy's description of being a Jehovah's Witness..."We don't celebrate holidays or birthdays. And we can't drink. (pause) But it helps."

And then it ends with a long slow motion scene of a gang fight, including flying kicks and Britta slamming some chick's face into the ground repeatedly. And, while I'm a Britta man...there was a brief shot of Annie in ripped hose/tights that was pretty hot.

I think it's officially my favorite show now.

^One of my favorite lines as well. Also the Christmas Troy thing made me almost shoot soda out of my nose.

So that was Anthony Michael Hall, I thought so, but that stache was so distracting.

While I still love The Office and 30 Rock, Community has been garnering more laughs per half hour than the other two on a regular basis now. Can't wait to see if they can keep it up.

i'd be content if the show decided not to extend into a third season. my fav British comedies typically only had two or three seasons, and given that the setting here is a community college, it'd be appropriate if Community followed suit. best not to dilute the reputation of a show with a longer than necessary run (*cough* 30 Rock, the Office *cough*).

I agree. Good shows are like candy. You may look at the bag and think "God that <insert your favorite candy here> was yummy, I want more!", but have one too many and it's barf city/ and or larger lovehandles. Short and sweet is definitely better.

having been to a community college myself, I would say that 4-5 years would be a realistic run for the show, and if they wanted to do a spin off called "Finally Transferred", they could milk it for another 3....
