This is what the inside of my head sounds like when I think about Community coming back on

Rejoice, Greendale study group fans! Soon there will be even more outlets allowing you to mainline Abed’s referential antics and Pierce’s grumpy commentary: Comedy Central announced today that beginning next year, the network has licensed the off-net rights for Community. That means that the show joins 30 Rock in the delicious, ever-repeating episodes on Comedy Central game. It’s also a good sign for those fretting over the health of the show, which returns tomorrow night despite a jarring moment in November when it was left off NBC’s midseason lineup. Now, everybody celebrate accordingly.

Hah.They shot part of "J. Edgar" near us and Chevy wandered over onto their set and pretended to be on the crew until Clint Eastwood noticed him.
Stuck in my head all day.
there is a tornado warning and community starts in 10 minutes! noooooo.
What the hell it doesn't come on for another three hours here.
Did anyone else notice Annie humming the song as she's walking through the study room only to be stopped by Jeff while he's writing his speech?
Last night's episode is hilarious. One of the better ones for me so far this season.

After much skepticism, I've finally gotten around to catching up with this show on Hulu and it is glorious. Nothing I've seen in a long long time has made me laugh quite as hard quite as consistently. I can devour at least half a season in a single sitting. As usual, I'm late to the party, but I'm just glad to be here before it's over.
Joel McHale did an episode of A DAY IN THE LIFE (a hulu series).

Yeah, Ken Burns episode ruled. My roommate and I were quoting it all morning after we watched it.
The previous episode was pretty good, but last week's ken burns documentary schtick got old very quick. poor showing IMO. They better have one hell of a paintball battle to finish off this series.
EDIT: the only redeeming part was the last pic that Britta got accidentally while trying to shoot a stack of waffles.
I'm developing sort of a love/hate relationship with this show. I pretty much love every individual episode I see. But when I take a step back and begin to examine the series in its entirety, I can't help but conclude that it just kinda sucks. Character development and any sort of overall plot is pretty much nonexistent at this point. Stylistically it's a pretty creative show, but to me it lacks any real substance.
That's the fucking point. Stylistically they are trying to emulate every type of tv show since the inception of tv. Character development is overboard in your face. What else do you want. Quit britta'ing this thread.
yeah that's a pretty ridiculous critique. The characters and relationships have been crammed down our throats and what kind of plot development are you looking for out of a sitcom? the fucking "sit" is the plot. "com" ensues.
Agree to disagree, I guess. I think the show's biggest weakness is that there's no real reason for me or anybody to watch from week to week. We do, because it's a damn enjoyable show. But as far as seeing what happens next to the characters, I don't care, because it doesn't ever seem that anything happens to them. And I think that's important for any TV show. You have to, on some level, care about the characters. The fact that I don't, and that within the show I'm not given any reason to, will be this show's downfall I think.
Yeah, I'd actually like an itemized list of long running 30 minute network sitcom series characters with moving character narratives.

No, tediously would probably be best for what you're going for there.
I'm on your side, guys. I love this show. I have all the seasons on DVD, yada yada. All I'm saying is that this show probably, and unfortunately, isn't going to be around much longer; and this is one of the reasons for that.
I mean, just look at some of the other shows on right now. Parks & Recreation, The Office, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother. All funny shows. And all of them have a linear plot. And all of them have characters who are depicted as real and believable people, characters the viewer can and does on some level care about. It's a necessary component of any television show, not just daytime soap operas or whatever was suggested that I watch (which was a ridiculous statement, by the way). But anyway, without that component, Community just isn't going to last. Again, I hate to say, but it's the truth.
Also, people watched Seinfeld because it was the greatest show ever to air. Comparing Community, or any show for that matter, to Seinfeld is just a mistake.
Well, people have different ideas of what makes a show successful. It's kind of what the show has been talking about lately. Whether its better to sacrifice your artistic vision in order to be accessible. Every show doesn't need to last forever. Not even every good show. This is a tired conversation in general. If you like what you're watching, just enjoy it and don't worry about whether it will get renewed. There are all those other sitcoms for you to watch if this one comes up short for you. Making Community into those shows is an impossible and dumb idea.
