Their upfront is on Monday. Everything until then is speculation.
30 Rock renewed:
http://www.avclub.com/articles/nbc-o...-season,73872/
that's confirmation of the cancellation rumor. They're only getting half a season.
Every single show on NBC is gasping - it's been that way for years. But if The Office can keep these actors, then Parks and Rec could do the same with its cast.
My prediction is that all four of the shows mentioned in my post and your quote are going to get short seasons if they come back; 30 Rock and The Office will likely be planned send-offs, and the other two will probably be a wait-and-see.
I wouldn't support the analogy between P&R and The Office. P&R has a more dynamic set of characters, a much "bigger" cast in pretty much all ways at this point. They're all very trendy right now, almost every single one of them, Scott, Plaza, Offerman, Anzari, Jones, Pratt, hell even that heavy old guy is doing Adult Swim bumps. Poehler is peaking.
Ed Helms and Rainn Wilson are pretty much the only meat in The Office at this point. Krasinski and Fisher are actually almost blander than the rest of the cast (and ideally suited to The Office)
Basically if you dissolved both shows today the P&R cast is generally better off than the Office cast.

They're all on the verge of doing something bigger, and Poehler is peaking, and would cap off the show if she left on her own.
Ed Helms and Rainn Wilson are pretty much the only meat in The Office at this point, but you could even handle one of them leaving and the show might survive. The whole point of that show is sort of that their all bland and boring, only each with their own unique quirk that could easily be substituted by someone else's
My point wasn't about preference - just about who's presumably busier/tougher to schedule. But I'm surprised to find that research does support your point - Amy Poehler has only done two movies since 2011, but Adam Scott has done seven and a bunch of shorter-commitment stuff (which surprises me), Nick Offerman has done seven movies of his own, and Aubrey Plaza has done six. I figured that they might lose a supporting character or two (likely Plaza), but yeah, basically all of these people are in fucking demand. By contrast, Ed Helms is absolutely the "biggest" name, movie-wise, in this discussion (and I would have bet cash on him leaving The Office), but all he has on the horizon is another Hangover movie to shoot this fall. Meanwhile, John Krasinski isn't nearly as busy as I thought he was either - I feel like I have read about a lot more films recently/forthcoming with his involvement than what actually appears to exist.
So, yeah...my prediction remains the same, but I'm not as optimistic on Parks and Rec as I was a couple hours ago. Thanks a lot, fuckface.
(Also, I don't really care about Community, so sorry for the threadjack.)
Im not going to read any of this shit for specifics, but all of that was just a continuous spread (and loss) of information from a couple days ago.
The show has now been picked up for a 4th season and there is no statement as to it being the last.

In comparison, 30 rock has been picked up for its 7th season and had been said by NBC that it will the last.
Good. I love 30 Rock, but I think 7 seasons is quite long enough.
Hopefully The Office will only be one more season (not because it's getting bad. It's just time).
Why is PC in Community?
Operation Dopple-Deaner and Britta talking about how Pelton is probably trying to cobble together a sexy Patty Hearst outfit had me dying.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
I was happily wrong about Parks and Rec - it got a full order.
This season has been crazy. Just got caught up and really dont know what to expect from getting 3 episodes on Thursday night!
dude let's keep threadjacking. Speaking of demand for members of The Office, have you seen Jenna Fisher's new one, The Giant Mechanical Man? They made dogshit out of a concept that could have at least been an artsy date movie. If I didn't like the dreary urban winter setting I'd have puked. Topher Grace was funny in it though.

holy crap do they know their audience.
They must have written this after full acknowledgement that they were cancelled.
(referencing the video game episode)
wow I guess that was a random spare episode they had to cram in somewhere. Probably delivered way late from earlier in the season or something.

Given how many times NBC has renewed shows for half seasons and then later ordered an additional 9 or so over the last few years (I seem to recall that happened to Chuck twice... once for sure), that's highly a death sentence for a network whose brand is pretty weak right now.
Although the biggest concern about season 4 of Community is that it's still uncertain if Dan Harmon is coming back. There are few shows that I think would be hurt as much by losing their showrunner as this one would be.
I think it's because of NBCs is struggling that they're doomed, I wouldn't expect that it will aid Community's cause. I don't see them keeping this one.
I'm pretty sure the show jumped the shark last night in any case.
Jumped the shark? Journey to the center of Hawkthorne was fantastic.
The show has been renewed for a 4th season 13 episodes.
