Limited single day tickets?

The LA Times article has very interesting wording:

"Tickets go on sale Saturday, via Ticketmaster. Three-day passes will cost about $250 and there will be a limited number of single-day passes available."

Um, hasn't it always been the other way around? The 2-day passes were always the limited ones. Weird.

Well yes, obviously. But what I'm saying is single day tickets have always been the ones that they kept selling until there were no more tickets left. The LA Times is making it sound like the 3-day passes will be more commonplace than the single day. That makes no sense.

Its weird. Well Stagecoach is only selling 2 day passes and then single day at the door.... So I guess wait until the ticket FAQ comes up on the new site to really see what the deal is.

That's illogical, because there are a lot of people who just want to see one band (headliner) and so they're going to buy a 1-day pass
