I thought Beach House played well, but they seemed a bit nervous. But, that's understandable since it was there first tv performance.

Editors on Kimmel as well. Gonna be a good night.
Ahh Yeasayer was amazing! Editors were good too. I loved Papillon.
I had no clue what anyone in Yeasayer looked like until just now, the performance was decent. I couldn't help but laugh at what anyone must think who hadn't heard of the band before and happened to flick on that channel, lots and lots of confused wtfs.
You can tell their sudden uber-popularity has gotten to the singer's head, which was shitty. Unless that's how his stage presence has always been. He just seemed like an arrogant ass.

nah, he's always been that way. i think it comes from overcompensating nervousness. but he's always been super fidgety and over acts a bit.
Ah, ok. Nevermind then.

i don't know what you're talking about chris, i thought yeasayer was great on fallon. at least their singer can pull off a good falsetto (unlike the singer in passion pit). that bassist is pretty awesome. wonder what effects he uses to play in that register.
the new editors sounded as awful live as it does on the album. next.
(on a side note, why is NBC such idiots about not allowing their content on YT. kimmel has his own YT channel fer fux sake. it's called distribution dumbshits)
Like Jared said, he has always been like that. And I love that about him. He seems so nervous and self concious... and in order for him to get over it, he tends to be dramatic and kind of spastic. He basically acts the exact opposite of what the music would suggest he acts like. What comes out of this is an extremely odd, yet genuine performance. I don't think it is an "act" per se... I think that is how he naturally feels he has to perform.
And Yeasayer look really different now from what they used to look like. Especially the bassist. Here is Yeasayer from a a year or so ago...
And Yeasayer now...

Wow, way different. Yeah, the lead singer looked like he could have been Brandon Boyd from Incubus' little brother last night.

did that forth guy die of aids or something?
Yeah... but the thing is, the way Chris Keating (singer from Yeasayer) does it, it comes off as odd, but quite charming. I can see how from watching one video like that on TV, it would come across like that. But when you see them in a live setting, it seems much more genuine. Like I said, I don't think he acts that way on purpose. He acts that way to get over his nervousness and shyness and that is the persona that naturally comes out of him when he gets behind the mic. I think he is fantastic.
Don't really know what happened to him actually. Also, I do not like the addition of a fifth member on stage. I know my opinion doesn't matter, but something about it rubs me the wrong way.did that forth guy die of aids or something?
The fifth member being the Tunde Adebimpe look-alike playing percussion in the back? Is that just par for the course with Brooklyn bands nowadays or what?

The one thing I noticed about the performance last night was that the drummer was playing a very small percentage of the percussion, what with the Tunde kid in the back and the electronic track leading the way.
