Well, that's a reason to dislike her with ferocious intensity, then. I like her shtick, even if it is analogous to Mom from Futurama. She reminds me of my grandmother in Texas, so I guess I get some comfort from that.

You've just ruined Futurama for me. Not that I don't get the connection. I have no southern relatives, though I did spend a couple of my immediate post-college years in Atlanta and Charlotte, and Deen brings up the very worst of those memories for me.

Yea, for the record I don't actually eat Paula style foods on a regular basis and I would probably be dead, in a coma, or some sort of electronic wheelchair device if I did. It's a gluttonous indulgence whenever I do whip up one of her recipes, and a sort of guilty pleasure watching her shows. But I don't watch her frequently...and I get the hate.
