Hell yeah man! I started with Talk About The Weather (their first album) and loved it. From there, I guess just go in order (next is Paint Your Wagon, then Nothing Wrong).

    honorable mentions:

    Boards of Canada
    Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
    Clan of Xymox
    Spacemen 3
    The Knife
    The Sisters of Mercy
    New Order
    Scott Walker
    Bark Psychosis
And a bunch of other postpunk/new wave acts that hardly ever tour.
I really miss Bark Psychosis. They'd easily be in my top 10 live acts of all time.

    Nice thread.

    1. Portishead
    2. Blur
    3. PJ Harvey
    4. The Pretenders (or just Chrissie)
    5. Cat Power

Bowie would be atop my list, but that just gets less and less likely every year.

Updating to check off Godspeed and remove Belong out of suspicion that they would be a massive disappointment.

    Never Seen
    Tom Waits
Lou Reed (in any incarnation but preferably with John Cale and Maureen Tucker)
    David Bowie
    Rene Hell
    Bee Mask

My list is getting a little thin. I've seen almost everyone that's hugely important to me.

4/5. I saw Michael Gira as Swans at ATP Asbury Park and was one of the best sets I've ever seen. PJ Harvey was awesome at Coachella 2011, we traveled to Boston to see the Magnetic Fields (after their NYC date sold out) and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was last Friday. I am pretty sure Low played NYC recently (though I could be wrong) and I've skipped them. Not sure they'd be on the top of my list anymore.

But, yeah. Seeing Spacemen 3 would be amazing.

I tended to stick to artists that tour regularly. The following is the list of the top 5 artists that got kicked off due to those criteria:

    Spacemen 3
    Neutral Milk Hotel
    The Velvet Undergound
    Talking Heads
    The Smiths

I also left off artists that I haven't seen because they are dinosaurs and command a billion dollars a ticket. This is also known as the "Please Headline Coachella List."

    Neil Young
Bob Dylan (a little over a month and I'll have to edit)
    David Bowie
    Peter Gabriel
    Ryan Adams
I am counting Jeff Mangum for Neutral Milk Hotel, which was at ATP and Coachella; the other 4 bands have yet to reunite. I saw Dylan at the AZ State Fair (as I knew I would) when I wrote that and have since, true to form, skipped Neil Young (with Patti Smith!) and Peter Gabriel gigs due to not wanting to pay for them.
