I would trade seeing one of the acts on my list for the time I saw The White Stripes.

I miss them. I saw them 5 times and that was nowhere near enough.

Feelings on Talk Talk: I would want to see that with either the most respectful crowd or on my own. Maybe at the Disney Concert Hall. Otherwise, I'd hate it because those songs deserve absolute silence. And, they'd have to do the Mark Hollis solo album as well.

In a similar vein, I'd see The For Carnation in the same exact instance. An amazing band that could only play in a venue with absolute silence because of the quietness and subtlety of their sound.

It was at Bridge School with the Kronos Quartet, so stunning and as good as I wanted him to be, but way too short of a performance.

    Setlist:

    Down in the Hole
    Cold Cold Ground
    Little Drop of Poison
    The Part You Throw Away
    Gods Away on Business
    The Day After Tomorrow
    What Keeps Mankind Alive
    Diamonds In Your Mind

Terrible video, but "God's Away on Business" was fantastic as back by the quartet:

She rarely plays deep cuts, so it's a lot of the same setlists.

Agreed. But I think since the Wiltern has worked for well for David Sylvian I think it would work well with later Talk Talk/Mark Hollis records

These would be a thrill, but will never happen:
    David Bowie
    Son Lux
    The Avalanches
    Godspeed You! Black Emperor
    Fugazi

    bonus 5:
    The Unicorns
    Therapy?
    Death From Above 1979
    Neutral Milk Hotel
    Soft Pink Truth

How did you never see Fugazi? I was close in 1995, and I was 9!

My friend saw them a handful of times and invited me to the last show he attend, but I wasn't able to make it to the San Francisco Food Not Bombs show. So I just sat at home like a dumb high school kid, not getting the best $5 show ever.

I don't know if the Soft Pink Truth has ever played live. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

    Apparently, yes:

This is the only list (so far) that i haven't seen at least one act from.

    Mine.

    Talking Heads
    Japan
    The The
    Led Zeppelin
Stina Nordenstam (yes, i know - as pointless as Scott Walker).

Yep - hence why i haven't seen them. The The were at one of the Reading Festivals i went to, but clashed with Pavement.

I got to see THE THE a few times! Amazing! one of my all time favorites. I was also lucky enough to meet and hang out with Matt Johnson & Johnny Marr during "Mind Bomb" tour

and yes would love to see Japan!

This is a cool thread. Though to figure out for me, I've seen almost all my favorites.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - If they ever play again, I'll go anywhere for it
Kraftwerk - Saw a few songs but I don't count that
Leonard Cohen - Same as above
LCD Soundsystem - Showed up late for Arcade Fire @ Hollywood Bowl
The Knife - Haven't listened to them that much, but would be amazing

I'd probably have Panda Bear and Grizzly Bear on there but I'm seeing both of them coming up.
