:\
but John isn't playing in the band anymore...... :\
Well they are in the running along with Bjork, Tool, Cure and Rage to be the first to headlining for the third time. I certainly won't be surprised if at least one of those bands makes it in 2012. Just a matter of time.

I'd be really happy if RHCP headline. They are from LA and have way more energy than Arcade Fire and especially Kings of Leon from last year. Plus they barely toured for Stadium Arcadium so there is a lot of new music that most people haven't heard live.
Frusciante was too crucial of a piece to RHCP. Don't think it should happen anymore, but there is always a chance it will. Still don't think they'd be that high up on the list of headliners GV is shooting for though, probably depends on how well the new album is received (although that didn't stop the KOL booking, heh).
I don't see Rage coming back again, unless they had a new album (and that isn't very likely it seems). I also don't see the Cure coming back anytime soon.
So it would be between RHCP, Bjork, and Tool. I would see Tool doing it first before the other two. I really hope GV doesn't resort to bringing RHCP back...God how awful...go after Pearl Jam or someone first instead.
Yes, if RHCP plays, then the Knife NEEDS to pull a Tiesto on their ass.

3x headliners in 11 years = bullshit. There are plenty of acts that can headline that haven't ever played. Would be nice to bring some of them in instead of repeating the same shit over and over again.
Keep RHCP away! No need for them to play again.
