except that we don't know if what the family is saying is true. i mean, they are talking about a lawsuit, so of course they are going to say those things. but the evidence may not support their position.

i have no problem with them using the name sublime (unless brad really did not approve).

i have a big problem with sublime playing at coachella.

Isn't Brad trademarking "Sublime" under his own name and his name only considered proof?

Yeah I wouldn't really be against Nirvana doing that either. But once again I wouldn't buy tickets. Nirvana's bass and drums don't excite me too much.

I am all for Alice in Chains' current formation (or even Smashing Pumpkins to some small extent) and would indeed buy tickets. I think everyone understands the difference.

All that extra stuff is to enhance your experience. And gas? Child please. You use gas to go everywhere. You use gas to get to the gas station.
Regardless, I need these things to get there. You can't tell someone who is coming from out of the country that Coachella's gonna cost them 300 flat because all they need is tickets. I save up 500 dollars each year dedicated it to Coachella and the 'Coachella experience'. So it costs me 500 dollars. Economic standpoint, not accounting stand point.

*edit- Next time I will just word it "500$ dollars for the Coachella experience" and avoid this...

For sure. I still don't know how I feel about them being a "cover band" or whatever, I was just annoyed by your logic. I am less cranky this morning though :P.

In all fairness to Alice In Chains, despite Layne being a phenomenal singer,Jerry Cantrell did write and sing alot of those songs.

Gas from Bay Area is a large enough amount of money so that it should be included in "Coachella Experience." Gas from Orange County you could easily buy the same amount for some other trip the next weekend - not a big deal.

That's like me saying I'm paying $10 to go to school 4 days of week because I have to drive roundtrip and gas.
Yes, a coachella ticket is roughly 300 dollars. But, as said earlier, for nearly everyone, food/lodging/transportation are additional costs. Some people pay more than others. It costs me nearly 800 because I have to fly out here.

And GV knows this and adheres to it. So they try to deliver us a lineup/experience that will make our expenses worthwhile. While it's advertised as a $300 for a ticket, both the fans and GV know that it's much more than that as a whole.

Point is, the Coachella experience costs alot more than $300. Unless you get in for free or something.

    For me it's over $1,000-easy.
