Oooooooo! Carolina Drama! I do like the inclusion of that song. However, the setlist does lack some of the White Stripes gems that other setlists have had. Good to see they are changing it up every show though. Im excited to see him next month.

With that being said... is Blunderbus not exactly "clicking" with anyone else? I like the album and enough and there are some great jams on there, but something about it isn't sticking with me. I feel like everyone else is loving the album, while I think it is just alright. Maybe my expectations were too high?

EDIT: Wait. I just noticed that setlist was missing "Ball and Biscuit." I was under the impression he has played that at every single one of his shows thus far, so I went to setlist.fm to check it out. I guess was under the wrong impression, because he hasn't. If I could only choose ONE White Stripes song for him to play, that would be it... because that song with a full live backing band would be so bad ass to see. Dear Lord I hope he plays it when I see him.

There's an interview with Jack (in New RS with Radiohead on the cover) where he said there's no setlist for this tour and he just picks his band (either all female or male bandmates the morning of show) and they practiced over 40 songs for this tour. I enjoyed both parts of the set but the second part of set was more rocking in my opinion I'm so glad they enforced the policy of no videos/photos or you will be asked to leave the premises! Actually didn't see bunch of iphones up in the air and people were actually paying attention to the music. They had couple shirts, slipmats, LPs and etc. Also if you're a fan of Rob Jones work, he made 120 screenprint posters which were available for $30. After the show, they gave away a different heavy cardboard type poster by Rob Jones as well. I love the way he jams with his new bandmates since it's been awhile I saw Jack play...great fun show! Can't wait to see him next month again.

ps Everyone singing along to We're going to be friends was adorable Saw Jay-Z in the audience. First Grizzly Bear show, now Jack White?!

I am a huge Jack White fan...maybe give the album a few more spins. I freaking love it. Best work of his since The Raconteurs "Consoler of the Lonely" which I also love. I also agree....if I could only hear one Jack White song this tour it would be "Ball and Biscuit"....really hope he busts that out at the Wiltern.

i am, too, and i haven't even listened to the new album yet. have downloaded it, but just haven't hit play. not sure if it's because i am so content with what i got from the white stripes and the amazing, intimate shows i saw back in the day that will never be topped, or what. they were just that right band at the right time for where i was at and it would be weird to see him performing those songs live with anyone else so i didn't even bother trying to get into any of his l.a. shows. i was into raconteurs quite a bit, but nothing else he's been involved with. the solo thing just isn't sparking my interest for some reason.

I heard some "No Church in the Wild" at some point, but I'm not familiar enough to know which song. This whole set was great, can't wait to see him at OSL.

Uhh why does Very Be Careful have to be opening at the Mayan gig? Are they just the go to band when GV absolutely can't find an opener? So boring live. Less inclined to go early and grab a good spot now.

Very, very good album. Wasnt instant love for me, but its a grower and I become fonder of it with each listen. Love that he zigs when you expect a zag, lots of country and bluegrass which I love. The AmEx performance was awesome too. So excited to see him live.

Ive been BLASTING 16 Saltines like, a lot.

Oh yeah, this song is so wicked and the beat is crazy. I'm not usually a fan of extreme guitar riffs but the solo in this one is insanely dope. The guy is a maniac. I think the song is incredible!

I love the way that he sings in an endless verse on "Missing Pieces". "Blunderbus" is gorgeous and I really love Love Interupted" because the music is very soft and uplifting but the lyrics are very dark and bluesy.

So are we assuming that he'll not do both male/female backing bands like he did in NYC tonight in LA? I think he'll breakout both and give them both practice but that's just optimistic thinking on my part perhaps.

I hope that he does the full show except for when he plays a shortened festival set. I think that he should play with both bands when he headlines festivals.
