I'm looking for tickets to Red Rocks show. I should have just bought them when I saw them on sell. I wasn't sure about getting the time off but now I have it. Does anyone know what day he is playing OSLO?

Really? No matter when you get there? Who do you buy this from? I can never get there early enough to line up so I would be all over that

Security/ushers/venue workers in the black shirts. Someone will point you in the direction. Potentionally, you could roll up right jack starts and pay $20 to be in the pit if they have not already sold their allocation of wristbands.

I think for how popular Jack White is you have to get there probably fairly early to even get the 20 dollar thing. When I was in line and being told about this, the venue worker seemed confident that no more than 50 or 60 people would buy it, and later when they ran out the ushers were shocked that they couldn't let any more people in because they filled up the 200. I don't know if it was because they were overwhelmed by the demand or what but it was really unorganized. you wait under the marquee and someone with a folder and wristbands will walk by and collect your cash and put a wristband on. One of the problems was the person doing this would come out and then disappear for a while. it was really annoying. They should have things sorted out better tonight

If you get there before doors open, do you get in early with the wristband? My favorite floor spot in the Wiltern is the rail right behind the pit and I was wondering if you can skip the lineup to get that spot.

That was my yesterday. Be careful, sometimes stuff won't show up as fast as if you open a new window and do the search again manually. Fucked up.

Elvis was an overrated hack. I'm not sure that's the comparison you want to be making. Freddie Mercury? That's a huge stretch. Have you seen any Queen concert films? I don't doubt Jack White is a good performer, I'm very interested to see his set at OSL, but that's a pretty tall order.

No one will even come close to being comparable to Mercury.

Provide a cogent counter-argument. I disagree as well, but see where Greg is coming from with his opinion: there are many reasons to call Elvis an overrated hack. I agree with overrated, but there was a brief period in the beginning of his career where he was nevertheless a compelling recording artist.

I do see where he is coming from. A lot of people say that but they are the ones who don't bring an argument. Elvis pre army was huge. There is a reason why he was at the forefront of bringing rock music to the mainstream audience. I'm not going to get into an Elvis argument. It's stupid to call him a hack. End of story

Did they have the one guy come out and make the announcement about cameras?

Does he still have all the stage crew dress in a certain way? I haven't seen one of his acts since the White Stripes in 2005, but that was one of my favorite things.

Yeah, they were in all black suits with blue dress shirts. And many had bowler hats on.

Yes, the guy came out and made the announcement prior to the show. The stage crew is awesome with their suits and fedoras/bowler hats.

I'm still recovering from that show. It was my first time seeing him perform and it was overwhelming. Exceeded expectations for sure.

Not really. All those schmaltzy sides for RCA are just so good, aren't they? And all those brilliant songs he wrote? The soundtracks? Come on, man. He certainly was a compelling performer for a few years, but it was more right place, right time with Elvis. We could rattle off artists and influence all day. Fact is, people love Elvis because it's Elvis, not because it's necessarily good. Hence, "overrated." My opinion, certainly. I like his Sun records and the early RCA stuff, but a lot of that stuff is absolutely terrible. Just a hired gun to sing lackluster songs.

Those set lists are all good. Very, very nice. I finally got around to catching up with some newer released material (been pretty busy after Coachella and haven't had the motivation to listen to any of the albums I downloaded over the past month) and I have to say the Jack White album has surpassed all expectations I had for it. Quintessential Jack White and the different artists he collaborated with on the album each stand out uniquely. I'll be playing this at work today on repeat to piss of my neighbors.

After the show some girl jumped on the stage and took a pick off one of the amps, and the bearded roadie was on a mission to hunt this person down. He found her and gave a great verbal lesson about how you don't touch jack's shit.
