What people are saying is that he just played LA not even two weeks ago, so that he needs to "hurry and announce some LA dates" is a funny way of putting it.

I'm just putting this here in case anyone else was thinking of going to the Bill Graham and was trying to get around the Ticketmaster fees.

Tickets are also available service charge free at The Fox Theater's Box Office (located on the 19th street side of the theater) on show dates and on Fridays from noon - 7:00pm.

The most ignorant Jack White review i've ever seen.

"White starts with an onslaught of sound, but his set loses focus as song after song dissolves into an extended jam"

I'm not saying she's a feminazi or anything, but look at his article history and it's obvious she would have liked the show better if it was Jacqueline White. Jsia

I hope Jack does something like this in NYC

Jack White plays crazy themed 'Hospital' secret show

Basically you were led to apply to see the doctor through a website http://vescovoandco.com/ specialising in contagious diseases and if you were in London were texted an hour before the event.
Heres a transcript of what happened next from 'whiteswirl.com'. (sadly i wasnt there)

"We gotba text telling us to go to a scientific research centre type place. We went in, signed a waiver saying we wont sue if the kill us etc then we were given medical style wristbands and a face mask. We were then called forward in fives and went up in a lift to a floor that can only be described as a creepy abandoned hospital. From here on out I can only describe my experience as it was different for everybody.

I was taken into a room which had nothing but a plastic chair, a flickering light and the scrawlings on the wall from that of an insane asylum patient. I was left here for 5 minutes to change into scrubs and those shoe protectors and to bag up my belongings. When I was eventually collected I was taken to another room with a second patient full of rat cages and vescovo information posters on the wall. Third Man went all out with the attention to detail on the branding, they must have spent a fortune on tonight. Once there, we were told to complete some mazes on a sheet of paper in silence and we'd come and be collected soon. Maze 1 was easy, maze 2 was harder and maze 3 was impossible to complete so I just doodled until the doctor came back. We were then taken to a big room where everyone else was, there were chairs around the perimeter divided individually by curtains. I was directed to a seat and given a Rubiks Cube to solve. After a few more minutes I was taken to a different chair and given headphones, then was told to listen to the music tracks that play and write down words that sprung to mind. Once that was over we were all given a vial of 'medicine' that apparently contained traces of alcohol. I dont drink so I tipped mine onto the carpet discretely but everyone else said it was a straight shot of whisky. After this we were lead through a dark smokey corridor into a vast, empty room. On the door was "Dr John A White III"...

We were herdednin and curtained off, then doused in a ton of smoke from some doctors with smoje machines. I got front and centre along with a lot of other Swirlers. Then the front curtain was pulled down.

Jack is standing there, guitar in hand, wearing a white suit made from a doctors uniform, full band behind him. Then they start playing the loudest rendition of Lazaretto you'll ever hear. They weren't done there, the full set then included High Ball Stepper, Icky Thump, St James Infirmary, John The Revelator, Dead Leaves and Sixteen Saltines. Lots of walking into the crowd and rocking out by Jack. Before he could finish Saltines he started looking weak, the seemed to freak out a bit. A roadie brought over the Kay and before he could play a note he dropped it hardnon the floor, fell down and started spasming. Paramedics ran on with a stretcher and forced him on before wheeling him away. It looked like there was a big struggle at the side that I couldnt see because the crowd chased him over there so someone else may be able to confirm what happened.

Afterwards we're lead outside, given our valuables back along with a Vescovo tote bag and a unique handsigned prescription from Jack. While this is happening a Vescovo branded ambulance pulls up, Jack is wheeled out of the building wailing and screaming, forced into the ambulance and it drives off into the distance.

This was not a dream, I swear."

This was the first song of the encore. Jack killed it all night and played a 30 minute encore, going over his set time and breaking curfew by about 25 minutes. He even teases Jay-Z's 99 Problems during this song.

    Woohoo!

At long last Third Man Records and Third Man Books are very proud to present our first commercially available book, Language Lessons: Volume I. Though the term book, in this case, may actually be a bit limiting considering what this whole package actually contains… Want to hear more? Read on.

Language Lessons is a 321 page hardbound book, co-edited by Chet Weise and Third Man’s own Ben Swank, full of contemporary poetry and prose including over 20 award winning and / or nominated contemporary poets and authors such as Dale Ray Phillips, a Pulitzer Prize nominee in fiction, C.D. Wright, a National Book Award finalist and National Book Critics Circle winner in poetry, and Adrian Matejka, a National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize finalist in poetry. Language Lessons is two vinyl LPs of jazz, psychdelic-punk, poetry, blues and pop from artists such as William Tyler, Destruction Unit, Ken Vandermark, Sampson Starkweather and more. Language Lessons is 5 pieces of frameable broadsides of poems by C.D. Wright, Frank Stanford, Brian Barker, Jake Adam York and Chet Weise with original art from former Big Boys guitartist Tim Kerr, one-time Hate illustrator Jim Blanchard, intertwangle-ist folk artist Butch Anthony and more. That’s a lot of bang for your buck… and it all comes housed in a hard-case clothbound sleeve. Has any other record label ever created such a thing? Are we mad?!

We are not mad. As previously mentioned, LL:VI will be Third Man Books' first commercially available tome and signifies a strong intent for Third Man entering the universe of publishing. Third Man Books, like Language Lessons, will be fearless, imaginative, and eclectic. We hope to be a welcome addition to what is already a very compelling and thrilling independent American literary landscape.

Language Lessons: Volume I is now available for pre-sale direct from the Third Man Store and will be available in discerning book and record stores the world over from August 5th.

    * The Language Lessons: Volume I box set includes a hardbound book of contemporary poetry and prose, two vinyl LPs of jazz, psychedelic-punk, poetry, blues and pop, and 5 pieces of hangable art all housed in a hard-case clothbound sleeve.

    * In 321 pages, the book includes over 20 award winning and / or nominated contemporary poets and authors such as Dale Ray Phillips, a Pulitzer Prize nominee in fiction, C.D. Wright, a National Book Award finalist in poetry, and Adrian Matejka, a National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize finalist in poetry. And, almost as interestingly, many in the book will be published for the first time in their lives.

    * To hang on the wall, five frameable broadsides of poems by C.D. Wright, Frank Stanford, Brian Barker, Jake Adam York and Chet Weise, with original art by former Big Boys guitarist Tim Kerr, one-time Hate illustrator Jim Blanchard, intertwangle-ist folk artist Butch Anthony, and more.

    * Features unpublished work by Frank Stanford, Jake Adam York, C.D. Wright, Steve Stern, Sampson Starkweather, Joshua Marie Wilkinson, bemsilr brigham, TJ Jarrett, Janaka Stucky, Sommer Browning, Gaylord Brewer, Dan Boehl, Ben Mirov, Daniel Lucca Pujol, William Miller and Chet Weise.

    * Features unheard music by William Tyler, Destruction Unit, Paul “Wine” Jones, and Ken Vandermark.

    * Nonfiction from punk rock progenitors Richard Hell and Tav Falco.

    * The occupations of the anthology’s contributors range from teachers, morticians, librarians, software developers, actors, and taco chefs to bartenders, farmers, musicians, and parents. Although from all over America (and beyond), almost 90% of the contributors read in Nashville at a DIY series called Poetry Sucks.
